Liquid and Evil Geniuses ready for Rio
The two NA teams booked their ticket with wins after three maps each.
It was two North American teams who booked the first tickets to IEM Rio from the Americas RMR in Sweden.
Evil Geniuses dealt with 9z in a very close match that went all three maps. The duo of Jadan 'HexT' Postma and Vincent 'Brehze' Cayonte was pivotal for EG to fight off 9z, who continued to impress. It ended 16-13 in favor of EG on the last of Mirage to seal the win and the spot at the upcoming Major. A huge turnaround for the Evil Geniuses franchise after some disappointing years.

Team Liquid was also able to book their spot in Rio with a victory against Complexity. The match started on Inferno, where Liquid showed an excellent T-side with Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis in front of the attack. The Latvian is continuing to impress. Liquid won Inferno without breaking a sweat, but on Overpass Complexity made it much more difficult and ended up winning 16-14 after a close map. Unfortunately the excitement ended on Ancient, where Complexity's T-side was non-existent, which Liquid took full advantage of by winning all their CT-sides.
