Evil Geniuses eliminates FURIA from BLAST Premier Global Final
The North American squad have eliminated the Brazilians from BLAST Premier Global Final.
Evil Geniuses dismantled FURIA in the lower bracket of BLAST Premier Global Final and send them home packing. The best performance from EG secured them survival and they will now look forward to face the loser of Vitality vs Liquid in the lower semi-finals.
The Brazilians were off to the best start to the series on Inferno (16-9), winning the map in a controlled manner with arT making sure CeRq and company didn’t get more than 9 rounds on the scoreboard. Mirage (16-14) was a close affair where EG fought back in the end after honda clutched in some crucial situations, lowering the deficit. The NA squad took the map and tied up the series to take the game to the decider on Nuke (16-6) which was going to decide who will be heading home from the tournament early. On Nuke EG’s Ethan had a number of clutches to keep his team’s lead strong at the half, which made their T-side mission a lot easier. Even though FURIA won the pistol round on CT-side they only managed to grab 2 rounds in second half due to an incredible performance from Brehze.
9-16 FURIA (Inferno) | arT: 25-13 K/D | 95.6 ADR | 1.66 rating
16-14 Evil Geniuses (Mirage) | CeRq: 22-13 K/D | 76.6 ADR | 1.26 rating
16-6 (Evil Geniuses (Nuke) | Brehze: 22-10 K/D | 96.5 ADR | 1.67 rating
MVP of the series:
Even though his team didn’t manage to win and survive in BLAST Premier Global Final, KSCERATO had the best overall performance in the server, delivering a 1.22 rating, 86.3 ADR, and a 61-47 K/D.
Highlight of the match:
The young honda showed glimpses of brilliance throughout the series and succeeded in most of his clutch situation. He made the play of the game with a 1v2 clutch in a crucial moment on Mirage to deny that 15th round for EG, which unfortunately wasn’t enough to push his team to victory in the end.
Crazy to see such a young new player on FURIA’s squad that plays like he has 5 years worth of experience in high pressure situations against some of the top teams.
Watch honda show balls of steel by not faking his bomb defuse:
