Virtus.pro edges past Gambit and qualifies for Grand Final at DreamHack Open
In a very closely fought brawl, it was Virtus.pro who came out on top.
There was no doubt, that the winner of Gambit vs Virtus.pro would be huge favorites in the Grand Final tomorrow against sAw.
So a lot was on the line for the two teams, who both could stare into the first prize of $50.000.
It started well for the Russians from Gambit. Abay “Hobbit” Khasenov and Sergey “Ax1le” Rykhtorov made a huge impact on Train, where they managed to help their team to a 16-6 victory.
A huge wake-up call for Virtus.pro, who earlier in the tournament had lost surprisingly to forZe. On Vertigo the newly winners of Flashpoint 2 woke up. They took home the second map with 16-14.
The decider map was Mirage. Here the Russians started to look shaky. They lost their T-side with 10-5 and was unable to recover on their CT-side.
