Gambit Esports or formerly known as Gambit Gaming is a Russian esports organization, owned by the biggest telecommunications company in Russia MTS. The organization is founded in 2013, and entered the CS:GO scene at the start of 2016. Their biggest achievement was their major victory at PGL Kraków in 2017.
Gambit signed the entire team of HS.GG in 2016, which became their first roster. The roster included a mix of Russian and Kazakhstani players as Dosia, AdreN and Mou, wayLander and hooch, but where the latter two quickly were replaced by HObbit and Zeus. Gambit now had a powerful roster, with the acquisition of a strong IGL in Zeus and a young promising player in HObbit combined with the strong core of Dosia, AdreN and Mou. With this roster did Gambit manage to take home their biggest achievement in 2017 when they won the PGL Major Kraków and became the first CIS team to ever win a major.
The organization decided in 2019 to put their entire roster on transfer after a serial of bad results and with their glory days far behind them. But in October 2020, announced Gambit that their academy team Gambit Youngsters has acquired the spot and now is their main roster going forward.
