Virtus.pro eliminated from IEM Chengdu after another G2 loss
G2 is through to the Semi-Final, where they will face MOUZ.
The first playoff match of the tournament was a repeat of the infamous “Jame PC crash” match at the PGL Copenhagen Major, where Virtus.pro missed out on the playoffs at the tournament after Dzhami "Jame" Ali’s PC crashed at a vital time giving G2 the opportunity to find a way back into the match.
Today G2 did not need any external help to eliminate Virtus.pro. On Anubis G2 delivered a superb map with all five players on the squad activated. As usual, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov spearheaded G2's frontline as they comfortably won Anubis 13-6.
Overpass is Virtus.pro’s most played map, and therefore it was no surprise, that it was here, that Dzhami "Jame" Ali and his men came closest to putting up a fight against G2, but at 10-10 the defense of Virtus.pro crumpled under the pressure, which gave Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and his men the last push to secure the Semi-Final spot.
Here they will face MOUZ, another rematch from the PGL Copenhagen Major.
Result:
Virtus.pro – G2 0-2 (6-13, 10-13)
