ECSTATIC defeats K23 in elimination match
The Danish team could face Astralis in the next round at Funspark Ulti 2021 Finals.
The former Lyngby Vikings team ECSTATIC has been a big positive surprise at Funspark Ulti 2021 Finals. Though the team lost their opening round against Entropiq, the Danish/Dutch/American roster has looked solid in the lower bracket.
In today’s match against K23, ECSTATIC won 2-0 after a very impressive performance.
On K23 map pick, Ancient, the underdogs managed to swing the match in their favor after trailing 9-6 at the break. The duo Adam 'WolfY' Andersson and Dion 'FASHR' Derksen was again proving their worth, while in-game leader Thomas 'birdfromsky' Due-Frederiksen showed an excellent T-side to steal the map away from K23.
Inferno was next up. Here Dion 'FASHR' Derksen again showed up big time in a very one-sided affair. ECSTATIC smashed through the defense of K23 in the first half taking a gigantic 13-2 lead into the second half. It didn’t help the CIS team, that they five times lost a round after being at least 2vs1 in the end in the first half alone.
K23 managed to win a couple of rounds in the second half, but the outcome of the match was never in doubt. Now ECSTATIC will face either Entropiq again or Astralis, as the two teams battle it out in the other lower semi-finals match at Funspark Ulti Finals.
