YEKINDAR crashes Cloud9’s homecoming party
Virtus.pro defeats Cloud9 2-0 in the opening round in Flashpoint 2.
Cloud9 were crushed in their debut match, getting beaten 16-5 (Inferno) and 16-14 (Overpass) by a strong playing YEKINDAR and Virtus.pro. The Russian side continued their strong form and controlled the match from the very start of the match.
YEKINDAR were the star player for VP presenting a 45-37 k/d, 86.1 ADR, 1.28 rating. The young Latvian outfragged the entire Cloud9 team on Inferno presenting vital entry frags but also strong bombsites anchors. YEKINDAR continued his strong form on Overpass and helped VP to close down the series 2-0.

Cloud9 didn’t manage to live up to the hype to this new ‘Colossus’ roster and the NA team struggled to find a satisfactory level of CS on Inferno. They improved their performance in the second map on Overpass, but they couldn’t fulfil the comeback. Cloud9 is now being sent down in the lower bracket due to this defeat, where they will meet either OG or Gen.g.
