Virtus.pro and Movistar Riders on top in Group A
The first matches at ESL Challenger February have been concluded.
This Friday marked the beginning of ESL Challenger February 2022, featuring renowned teams like Complexity, FURIA, and Virtus.pro. The $100.000 tournament is played online and was kicked off with a thrilling Bo1 matchup between Virtus.pro and 9z.
In the opening battle, it was the favourites from Virtus.pro who ended on top after a close and fierce fight on Mirage, where 9z showed promising levels throughout the entire series. However, as mentioned it wasn’t enough to upset the #5 team in world, as Dzhami “Jame” Ali and company took home the win by closing out the match 16-14 on Mirage.

With Virtus.pro taking an early lead in Group A, it was time for one of the two other group contestants in Dignitas and Movistar Riders to follow suit.
Despite having several former Major winners on the roster, the Swedes from Dignitas didn’t manage to overcome Movistar Riders in ther Bo1 match on Inferno. Through a stellar 12-3 T side and a solid second half, Movistar Riders secured the victory, levelling up with Virtus.pro in the top of Group A.
