Sources at Dexerto have suggested that Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis might be leaving Virtus.pro after the PGL Major Antwerp.
The reason the Latvian star wishes to leave the team has to do with the pressure that Russian esports organizations have been facing since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Most notably, Gambit and Virtus.pro have been affected by the sanctions and have since been forced to play under the neutral names: Players, and Outsiders.
"YEKINDAR" who was named the eighth-best player in the world in 2021 would probably not be a free agent for long, due to his great performance for VP over the last two years.
Teams in the top 20 that might be a likely destination for the young Latvian include OG, MOUZ, fnatic and Entropiq. All of these teams have been struggling a bit lately and would benefit massively from adding "YEKINDAR" to their roster.
