Brazil come to Europe to stay!
FURIA put the doubters to rest by overcoming VP 2-1 to reach the semi-finals and will play against the winner of Liquid vs. MIBR
The Brazilians started the game confidently on the opening map and dominated Virtus.pro out of the server on their own map pick (16-6), but the Virtus.pro squad managed to find their footing in the second map, Mirage, which they won 13-16.
In the end, FURIA was too much for Virtus.pro on the decider, they won convincingly 16-9 and will be in the semi-finals on Sunday for a chance at making it to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.
Yuri “yuurih” Santos was definitely leading the charge with his no-fear mentality. The 20-year-old found opening kills 4 rounds in a row, as well as 10 total kills to put up FURIA 7-6 after being behind 3-6 on Train where he was unstoppable with 31 kills, 2.21 K/D, and 126 ADR.
The same Brazilian was the top player on the server overall, delivering a rating of 1.46, 95.0 ADR, and a 73-46 score.
Virtus.pro elimination means their next match will against MAD Lions when they resume their Flashpoint 2 run, while FURIA possibly could be facing their countrymen from MIBR if they manage to win against Liquid.
