Vitality finally wins a final in 2020

On BIG’s map pick, Dust2, the action was fierce from the start. Both teams fought for momentum in the match but were unable to take a bigger lead than by two rounds. It was not until syrsoN took his AWP and destroyed the Frenchmen from distance, that a three-round lead was established.

But then the momentum changed. All of sudden the entry-frags went Vitality’s way. And in the end, it helps to have one of the best players in the world. ZywOo made a beautiful clutch at 14-12 to give Vitality the matchpoint.

Vitality took home Dust2 with 16-12.

On Nuke it was BIG who came out firing. k1to, tabseN, and XANTARES gave the Germans a big solid lead at 13-3.

Team Vitality is not known for giving up that easy. The Frenchmen took back control of the server and were so close to a major comeback. At 15-14 in BIG’s favor their last push for overtime was denied.

The last map was Inferno.

Vitality started by delivering a shock move. Nivera and misutaaa had switched between Dust2 and Nuke as we had seen before, but on Inferno, it was shox’s turn to step down. A very surprising move from the innovative French side.

It was BIG’s k1to who kickstarted Inferno.

Overall the Germans seemed comfortable on Inferno. Having already played earlier against Complexity, it was interesting to see if the energy and freshness were going to play a part. And it did. At around midnight (CEST) the German team lost momentum. A three-round lead was quickly equalized, and suddenly Vitality was ahead. Nivera was the leading fragger in the French assault, which ended with a 16-12 victory.

Team Vitality takes home $25.000 and a place at BLAST Premier Falls Final. The German team will also be present at the Finals, securing the place with the win in the Consolidation Final.
