apeX on Vitality's gameplay: It's a bit of a disaster right now
Despite qualifying for the playoffs, the in-game leader of Vitality Dan "apEX" Madesclaire was not happy with the gameplay that the defending Major champions showed.
Relief was evident on the faces of Team Vitality's players as they secured a playoff berth at the Copenhagen Major. The reigning champions have displayed vulnerabilities at the Major, particularly with their star player Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut grappling with illness during the event.
- It’s a bit of a disaster right now the way we play. As you know, the best player in the world is not feeling well, and even though we have a strong team it is tough to not have him (on 100%). But I am really happy that we made it work, and then he is able to be there for the playoffs. It was really rough, we didn’t play good, we played one by one and it was pretty chaotic, said Dan "apEX" Madesclaire in an interview on the official broadcast after the match.
"I hope ZywOo will get better"
With five or six days before Team Vitality is back in action in the Quarter-Finals of the Copenhagen Major, there should be time for Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut to recover. A must if Vitality is going to make it to the next stage according to Dan "apEX" Madesclaire.
I just hope that ZywOo will get better, because we need him. It’s a major, if your best player is not there, then it is really difficult. I’m just happy that we are in the quarter-finals, fuck the way that we did it, the charismatic Frenchman said after the game.
