The trio of Maciej "⁠F1KU⁠" Miklas, Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković, and Iulian "⁠regali⁠" Harjă will continue on OG, who has been active on the transfermarket to complete their lineup for the second part of the season.

Dion "FASHR" Derksen (FNATIC) and Nils "k1to" Gruhne (BIG) joins the roster, where Maciej "⁠F1KU⁠" Miklas is the only surviving player from the lineup that played at the Paris Major.

Nemanja "⁠nexa⁠" Isaković will return to the roster after having spent time off since the start of the year, while AWP'er Iulian "⁠regali⁠" Harjă's stand-in performance at IEM Dallas was enough to convince the management of OG to continue the partnership with the Romanian, who was on a free transfer after Copenhagen Flames went bankrupt earlier this year.

It was an unlikely hero that had to step in for BIG, as the Germans prevailed and won their Round 2 match against FURIA at IEM Katowice. Nils 'k1to' Gruhne, who previously has been benched and then promoted to the first team again, played two incredible maps to secure his team the win.

It was initially FURIA who had the upper hand in the match winning BIG’s map pick of Anubis. But that didn’t last long. BIG won Mirage and Ancient 16-9, 16-9 to seal the win and a spot in the main event at IEM Katowice. On both of the last maps, it was on the T-side that k1to impressed. On Ancient he dropped 23 kills during the 15 rounds in the first half to give BIG a huge push toward the victory.

FURIA will need to win on Friday when they face the winner of paiN vs IHC in the lower bracket. The winner advances to the main stage of IEM Katowice.

In the last match of the day, OG came out on top against fnatic. The game was much similar to the BIG vs FURIA match. fnatic started out winning Overpass but then fell apart on Mirage and Inferno. Both times it was their CT side that let them down winning only five CT rounds in total in the last two maps. Excellent calling from Nemanja 'nexa' Isaković combined with the impressive firepower, that OG can display on the server made the difference on a day, where fnatic greatly missed the impact from their AWP’er Nico 'nicoodoz' Tamjidi.

fnatic is back on the server Friday, where they face the winner of Grayhound vs MIBR.

One of the teams to fly under the radar at IEM Rio has definitely been BIG. The Germans went 3-1 in the Challengers Stage to qualify for the Legends Stage, where Day 1 ended perfectly by winning against their two fellow German Organizations Sprout and MOUZ.

The match against MOUZ was decided on Mirage. In the bo1 match BIG started on their T side, which normally would be a disadvantage, but not against MOUZ, who has shown the best T side during this event. BIG went 10-5 up after the first half. The much-feared T side from MOUZ never really got going due to an impressive defense from BIG in the second half. It ended pretty one-sidedly in a very convincing win for BIG.

Last month’s IEM Cologne was the perfect opportunity for BIG to showcase themselves and relish the moment of playing in front of thousands of German fans on home turf in the iconic LANXESS arena.

However, it ended up being quite the letdown as they were eliminated even before the actual main event, falling short to Astralis in the Play-in stage.

A result that hit BIG captain, and native Cologne citizen, Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz especially hard.

Earlier this month it was announced that Nils “k1to” Gruhne would rejoin the BIG roster after a stint on their academy team. The 23-year-old rifler replaced Tizian "tiziaN" Feldbusch. We asked tabseN to explain the decision.

BIG will be in action tomorrow when tabseN and company are set to continue their campaign at BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Here the Germans will battle G2 for a spot in the next round at the $177.500 tournament.

BIG has announced the return of the well-known German rifler Nils "k1to" Gruhne. The 23-year-old German is replacing tiziaN in the lineup. tiziaN has lately not been showing the best performances, sporting a 0.97 rating over time as a BIG player. But tiziaN has been a part of the German organization's trophy runs at DreakHack Open Summer 2020, DreamHack Masters Spring 2020, cs_summit 6, FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe Final, and recently Roobet Cup 2022.

k1to will be back in action for the first time, after spending six months on the Academy roster where he played the role of an in-game leader. The BIG squad is in Berlin getting ready for the second half of the 2022 season, which will be kicking off on August 21 at BLAST Premier Fall Groups. 

Nils ' k1to' Gruhne will once again be playing with the main squad of BIG as Josef 'faveN' Baumann is still suffering from "abdominal influenza". 

'k1to' has been active with the main roster in a lot of different roles a lot recently as he has stood in for both 'Krimbo', 'faveN', and even 'gob b'. The 23-year-old averaged a 1.06 rating at the recent Roobet Cup where the German squad claimed the $150.000 first-place prize. He will now have to replicate this performance if the team wants a chance at the title at the biggest event of the season.

Starting with sixteen teams we were down to just two as FaZe and BIG got ready for their brawl in the Grand Final of the Roobet Cup 2022 event. Both teams had proved themselves more than worthy of reaching the Grand Final with FaZe's individuals stepping up in every single game and BIG's cohesive teamwork pushing them over the edge in every tough game. Before meeting on the server, FaZe were the big favorites going into the Grand Final. With "karrigan" having seemingly found the recipe for FaZe to stay performing at their high skill ceiling far more consistently than previously, the European super roster seemed poised to take home the victory against BIG. However, it wasn't that easy. If you know anything about BIG, you probably know just how tough they can be to play against when they are on fire. The cohesive and well-executed teamwork of BIG meant that it was in fact the Germans who came out on top after three close maps and who were able to call themselves the champions of Roobet Cup 2022 after claiming victory against FaZe in the Grand Final. 

The first map of the Grand Final was picked by BIG and saw the two rosters head to Dust 2 to kick off the battle. Dust 2 has been one of BIG's strong suits for many years now and when the Germans are having a good day on Dust 2 they can seem almost impossible to bypass. Despite this, however, the individuals of FaZe make the prospect of facing them on Dust 2 an always scary one. BIG started on the T-side and had slight issues with breaking down the FaZe defense at first, forcing them to save in multiple rounds, despite being on the T-side. It didn't take long, however, before the Germans woke up. Finding luck in different areas of Dust 2, BIG caught up with FaZe once again and managed to create a scoreline as close as possible at 8-7 going into halftime. The second half saw a rock-solid BIG defense get off to a great start. A "Twistzz" on fire did his best but had to see his efforts fall short as BIG closed out Dust 2 at the scoreline of 16-13. 

The second map of the Grand Final between FaZe and BIG was, of course, picked by "karrigan" and his troops. Perhaps unsurprising the two rosters headed toward the concrete of Nuke to carry on the battle. Nuke is a map that as of late has been almost synonymous with FaZe and where no team wishes to see the names of "broky" and "Twistzz" on the server. With that being said, Nuke is also a map that BIG have previously leaned on for results in big matches and a close brawl was therefore on the cards. FaZe got off to a great start on their T-side and managed to put rounds on the board and create an early 6-2 lead. Once again it wasn't long until BIG found their groove and started putting rounds of their own on the board. A close battle in the first half concluded with a scoreline of 8-7. Once the two rosters had switched sides it was once again FaZe to come flying out of the gates, however, they were, not long after, followed by BIG. With BIG taking control of the economy in the second half it was difficult for FaZe to string multiple rounds together and the Germans managed to slowly but surely edge themselves back into the driving seat at 14-13. The hard-fought battle from the Germans to take control of the second half proved to be all in vain, as they crumbled in the final three rounds and were defeated by a resilient FaZe defense at the scoreline of 16-14. 

The third and final map of the Grand Final was set to take place on Mirage. Being the most played map of all time in professional Counter-Strike, it is a map that both FaZe and BIG are more than familiar with and seemed the perfect grounds for the last brawl before the champions could be crowned. FaZe started Mirage the strongest. Posting a stellar CT-side it seemed as if BIG had too much to handle in their offense. Managing to claw themselves back a handful of rounds, things were relatively close as the two teams switched sides at the scoreline of 9-6. After having switched sides, a far more bolstered and cohesive BIG roster came alive. With "syrsoN" hitting his shots on the AWP and "tabseN" finding his groove on the server, things became close between the two teams. After having been caught up with by BIG it seemed as if "karrigan" and FaZe had lost their chance on Mirage. Managing to remain calm and collected, however, FaZe pushed BIG into overtime as things were all tied up at 15-15. At the scoreline of 19-17, BIG took home Mirage, claimed victory against FaZe, and became the champions of Roobet Cup 2022.

Karim "⁠Krimbo⁠" Moussa will once again be available for the Germans at BIG after having tested positive for Covid-19 five days ago. The news comes less than nine hours before their first match at BLAST Premier Spring Final Lisbon, where they will take on ENCE.

Krimbo missed the last two matches at last week's Pinnacle Cup Championships due to the positive Covid result, with Nils "k1to" Gruhne rejoining the team after being demoted earlier this year. BIG ended up losing both matches 2-0 against the Danes from Heroic and Astralis.

Nils "k1to" Gruhne will once again be standing-in for Karim "Krimbo" Moussa at the beginning of BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Lisbon. The information was confirmed by in-game leader Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz in an interview with Pley.gg today.

As the latest addition to the roster, Karim "Krimbo" Moussa has had a promising start to his career at the German Organization, but last weekend the 19-year-old rifler had to withdraw from playing the Pinnacle Championship in Lund, Sweden due to a positive Covid-19 test. BIG went on to lose two consecutive matches with Nils "k1to" Gruhne playing as the last-minute stand-in. 

Karim "Krimbo" Moussa was brought in as a replacement for Nils "k1to" Gruhne in March 2022, where he was promoted from the BIG Academy team.

BIG will face ENCE in their first match of BLAST Premier Spring Finals in Lisbon tomorrow night.

The information is also backed up by the recent tweet, that BIG posted with the players including Nils "k1to" Gruhne taking a walk in Lisbon upon arrival.

Berlin International Gaming has still not found its footing after the departure of Can "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş in the middle of 2021. Nicklas "gade" Gade has been both in and out of the team since, with Josef "faveN" Baumann coming in to replace the Dane. 

The results have not been great for the former number one team in the world. The lack of firepower has been an issue for the German roster.

Now the team is trying to adjust one more time. BIG Academy player Karim "Krimbo" Moussa will replace Nils "k1to" Gruhne on a permanent basis. The Academy player has already been playing with the main roster in the RMR qualifiers as a stand-in.

Nils "k1to" Gruhne will instead switch to the academy team.

BIG is scheduled to play in Group C at ESL Pro League next week.

The action started with the North American choice of Overpass and impressed with a fantastic performance from automatic. The 25-year-old American was a threat to the German team, consistently finding openings and multi-kills to help EG win a convincing victory at the opener.

The first half of Dust 2 was a one-way performance. K1to’s squad made the best out of their T side, as they quickly managed to go up 1-7. It was going smoothly for BIG until 12-6 on the scoreline when the North Americans attempted a comeback on offense, but in the end, a couple of key rounds from syrsoN was enough to close the map 16-12.

Everything came down to Vertigo, where things were a nail-biter and went back-and-forth with both teams in the lead. Picking up momentum, the German put up a solid T side and won the first half of Vertigo at the scoreline of 8-7. BIG kept their momentum in the second half, winning the pistol and the next three rounds. After switching sides, the German side pulled off a couple of close retakes to start pulling away, closing out the map 16-10 and the series 2-1.

Do not let his beautiful beard fool you, Nils "k1to" Gruhne is only 23 years old. But even though he is still a young man, he has already managed some amazing plays.

His team BIG was unfortunately eliminated from BLAST Premier Fall Final 2021 earlier this week, but "k1to" had a great showing sitting at #2 on the HS% leaderboard at 66.1%. He has impeccable crosshair placement which is perhaps why his favorite weapon is the Desert Eagle.

The heavy favourites from BIG have just secured themselves a place in the playoff stage at DreamHack Open November after taking down MAD Lions in the Group A winner matchup this Thursday. Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz and his side got the win through a masterpiece performance on Mirage, where they went 14-1 on the CT-side.

On BIG’s map pick on Dust2, things got more competitive and heated between the two teams, as MAD Lions improved their game massively after their tame showing in map 1. Before the switch, MAD Lions were up 8-7, however in the end, BIG was able to turn things around on the defence once again. The 16-13 map win send the Germans through to the playoff as 1st seed, while MAD Lions is set to play against the winner of MOUZ and GamerLegion for the last playoff spot.

With a win streak of 9 matches in a row, at the time of playing against BIG, Natus Vincere seemed almost impossible to beat. Sitting on six points in Group C the CIS giants have had a remarkable run, with “s1mple” leading the charge. BIG, however, have seemed very potent themselves, only losing narrowly to fnatic in their first two games. The series started off on Dust 2, the map pick of BIG and despite being one of NaVi’s good maps it was the German roster to start the strongest with a victory on their own map pick. BIG didn’t slow down on the second map of the series either. Continuing confidently, they made Natus Vincere look foolish on their own map pick of Mirage. Not allowing their opponents any room to breathe, the BIG roster closed out the series against NaVi with a 2-0 victory.

The first map was the pick of BIG and saw the Bo3-series kick off on the map of Dust 2. Being infamous for its open spaces and ability to force 1v1 duels it is by no means a map that Natus Vincere are strangers too. BIG, however, seemed confident and ready to fight “s1mple” and NaVi and looked good from start to finish on Dust 2. With both teams eager to take home the first map of the series it was a close affair in the first half of Dust 2. After posting a strong T-sided performance it was the BIG roster to have a slight lead going into the second half of the map. The second half brought more close battles across the map, however, a strong and well-organized CT-sided defense from BIG proved to be too difficult for NaVi to break down and at the scoreline of 16-11 they would have to see themselves bested on Dust 2.

The second map of the series was NaVi’s map pick. Just as yesterday’s match against mousesports, the Natus Vincere roster opted for Mirage as their map pick. Unlike yesterday’s match against mousesports, however, it was a completely different Natus Vincere roster on Mirage. From start to finish it was BIG to have control, not allowing NaVi any space for free. At the impressive scoreline of 10-5, favoring the Germans of BIG, the Bo3-series was slowly slipping out of the hands of NaVi. All BIG had to do in the second half of Mirage was to finish what they had started in the first half, and they did exactly that. A stunned NaVi didn’t manage to post more than two rounds in the second half and at the scoreline of 16-7 it was BIG to take down the giants of NaVi with a 2-0 victory.

When BIG begins their journey towards the main tournament at IEM Cologne, they will already have played atleast 118 maps of competitive Counter-Strike in 2021 alone. 

- Schedule wise it has been pretty rough the last couple of years. There is no ending. It is game after game after game. It is kind of hard to maintain focus and energy. We are professionals, right. So we do everything we can to perform, in-game leader Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz tells Pley.gg at a press conference before IEM Cologne.

It is only Gambit, who has played more tournaments of the top tier teams in 2021. The Russians have destroyed all opposition for most of the year and are currently ranked as the best team in the world. Much like BIG experienced at this time last year, where they made it all the way to the number one spot in the world.

- Last year I wanted to play everything because I did not see the bad side of it. We were only winning so it was fun. But when you lose, and you lose rough games, and you keep going out of the group stage, it gets tough playing tournament after tournament, because you do not have time to fix your mistakes. It is exhausting, but we are professionals and we need to live with it, Nils "k1to" Gruhne explains.

Lately BIG has attended tournaments like Spring Sweet Spring 2, ESEA Premier Season 37, and Elisa Invitational Summer 2021. All minor tournaments on the circuit, but necessary if you ask Christian Lenz, Chief Gaming Officer at BIG.

- The problem we have right now is, that for different tournaments you need different rankings to be invited. The smaller tournaments like Snow Sweet Snow etc. take their rankings from HLTV. We still need to play the smaller ones to gain ESL points. That is the reason why we also now play the Elisa ranking. We still need points to be qualified for the ESL Pro League in the fall. It is a lot of stress and it is way too much. All we wish is that one day, there will be a better structure in general for CS:GO, because right now it is a mess.

BIG will face their countrymen from Sprout in the Play-in at IEM Cologne on Tuesday.

The first map was played on Inferno, which was FaZe´s map choice but it wasn’t the Europeans who called the shots on the first map.

In the first half BIG delivered a clear demonstration as the T side, as they won 9-6 as the T side on Inferno. The control of the banana was outrageously good from BIG, which gave them the upper hand as the T side.

And in the second half BIG delivered yet another masterclass as they got a perfect strategy against FaZe, and this ended up with a 7-3 victory for BIG which gave them the map victory at 16-9.

The second map was to be played on Nuke, which was BIG´s map choice, and after the domination on FaZe map pick, we would expect BIG to continue, but this didn’t happen.

FaZe got a fantastic start, as they won 10-5 and the game seemed to be a formality, and BIG didn’t look like a team who would make a comeback in the second half, after a very weak performance from the German side in the first half on Nuke.

And just as expected FaZe closed the game early on as they managed to win six out of the first nine rounds which were enough for them to get the map win at 16-8.

Therefore, a third and decisive map was needed to find the winner of the exciting game!

FaZe dominated in the first half on Overpass where they won the half 9-6, and BIG delivered the same result as the T side, which meant that Overtime was needed.

In today's matchup at BLAST Premier Spring Final between G2 and BIG, the German power rifler Nils "k1to" Gruhne presented an outstanding ace on Mirage, where he displayed his wild versatility by getting all five kills switching between his deagle, his AK-47 and also a molotov cocktail. The first map of the semi-final of the Spring Sweet Spring 2 was played on Mirage, where BIG dominated the second half as the CT side, after a close first half in Entropiq´s map pick.

The first half was where BIG was the T side, they came in front 8-3, but didn’t manage to win another round as the T side, and gave Entropiq a chance back in the map with the 8-7 after the first half.

But in the second half BIG shifted gears, as they defended the bombsites almost perfectly, and they didn’t grant Entropiq any chance as the CT side. They ended up winning the second half 8-3, which was enough for them to secure the map win 16-10.

The domination by BIG was with a k1to who looked to be invisible at Mirage with a rating of 1.56.

The second map to be played was BIG´s map pick where they chose Vertigo.

The German side got a fantastic start on the first half on their map pick, where they started as the T side, they won five of the first six rounds, but somehow something changed for Entropiq.

Entropiq began to change their plays and win their 1v1 duels, and they won the following eight out of the nine rounds and winning the first half 9-6.

In the second half BIG was dominating, they got a great start making the game competitive at 9-9 and 11-11, but then something changed for BIG they began to defend perfectly and won the last five rounds winning the map 16-11.

BIG will met OG in the Grand finale at 18:00.
