NiP secure a spot in the Group A Final
The Ninjas in Pyjamas took down BIG for the second time today
Whilst G2 have already claimed a spot in the Group A final, their opponent is yet to be found. This, however, will change once BIG and NiP lock horns for the second time today. The rosters fought earlier in the opening matchups, where it was the Ninjas to prove themselves the stronger roster on Overpass. This time the two teams are set to brawl on Nuke, a turf that is perhaps more suitable for the Berlin-based BIG roster. With BIG having just defeated Complexity on Nuke and NiP claiming the victory the last time the two teams fought, it seems as if this Consolidation Final, on paper, is as close and intense as it gets.
It was BIG to start on the favored side of Nuke as the CT’s. Both teams seemed a bit rusty as the Bo1-series on Nuke kicked off and neither team seemed completely in control of the match. However, in the later stage of the first half NiP began to find the confidence they needed to win dire rounds. Thanks to many successful lurks and creative entry-kills from the IGL of NiP “hampus”, it was the Scandinavians to post the better performance in the first half on Nuke. BIG would have to see themselves behind at 9-6, going into their own T-sided half against “hampus” and his troops. The NiP confidence carried through to the second half of Nuke and with young “phzy” stepping up to the plate in addition to “hampus” it was all too much for the Germans to handle. At 16-9, it was the Ninjas in Pyjamas to claim victory and a spot in the Group A Final against G2.
