Stewie2K on Valorant: I will eventually make the switch
The "Smoke Criminal" hints towards a potential move to the rivalry game.
Jake “Stewie2K” Yip has played a key figure for not only the North American scene but for the entire Counter-Strike in general. The versatile player was a part of the iconic Cloud9 roster who won the ELEAGUE Major in 2018 against FaZe Clan in a memorable Grand Final, and later on an essential player on a historically good Liquid-side. However, the CS:GO community may have to face a future without Stewie2K.
In a recent Twitch stream, Stewie2K tuned into a professional Valorant game between 100 Thieves and Envy, which appeared to entertain him quite a lot. The profiled NA player thereafter hinted towards a potential switch to the rival FPS shooter.
“Watch party tomorrow, I’m down to watch it with you guys. I actually learned a lot from watching, and with all jokes aside, I’m not making the switch, but I will eventually”
If or when Stewie2K joins Valorant he will follow a large number of renowned players, who’ve ditched CS:GO to chase a career in the fast-growing game by Riot Gaming. Some of the biggest names are Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, Spencer “Hiko” Martin, Nick “nitr0” Cannella and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latha.
