Team Liquid Secure Playoff Spot
North American powerhouse Team Liquid has advanced to the playoffs of the Shanghai Major after defeating MIBR in a decisive best-of-three series.
As one of the most dominant North American Counter-Strike teams of the past decade, Liquid appears to be regaining their form. Led by Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, the team secured their place among the final eight teams in the Major, ensuring that NA CS will be represented in the playoffs.
The victory was marked by commanding performances on two of the three maps. Liquid started strong on Mirage, dismantling MIBR with an overwhelming 13-2 win. Although they narrowly lost Nuke 13-10 in a hard-fought battle, Liquid bounced back on Anubis.
The decider map was a showcase for Keith "NAF" Markovic, who delivered an unstoppable performance in the second half. MIBR had no answers to Liquid’s dominant T-side, leading to a commanding 13-5 victory. The result left no doubt that Liquid deserved their spot in the playoffs, as they celebrated their triumph with confidence.
Now, the challenge intensifies for Team Liquid. Having arguably faced the easiest path to the playoffs, the team must prove they can compete at the highest level and overcome tougher opponents in the next stage. Can Liquid rise to the occasion and exceed expectations? The playoffs will provide the ultimate test.
