Complexity qualifies for Copenhagen Major as the only NA team
Fans of North American Counter-Strike will only have one team to root for at the upcoming Major.
The last day of the Americas RMR for the PGL Copenhagen Major was another brutal experience for the many North American fans.
Despite an excellent start to the match against Legacy, M80 failed to convert their own map pick to seal their spot in Copenhagen. Instead, they got reverse swept by Marcelo "coldzera" David and his teammates who secured Brazil a fourth team at the Major alongside FURIA, Imperial, and paiN who won the all-Brazilian brawl against ODDIK.
In the last match of the event, Complexity and Team Liquid faced each other in the “battle of North America”. Both teams won their map picks (Inferno – Liquid, Anubis – Complexity), before they headed on to Overpass. Here Complexity kickstarted the map by going 7-0 up before Liquid found their way through the defense of Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and company. Despite a mini comeback at the end of the first half, Liquid lost another pistol round to find themselves 10-4 down. Mareks 'YEKINDAR' Gaļinskis only showed a small glimpse of his potential in the second half of the match, but here it was already too late. The Latvian has been immensely disappointing at the event, where it is obvious that the Liquid team is not comfortable in their roles and positions yet.
Complexity may not individually match the stars of Team Liquid, but it was clear that Grim, Hallzerk, and the rest of the team are a much more cohesive unit than their rivals from Liquid. Complexity won Overpass 13-7 and booked the last ticket available for the first CS2 Major in history.
