Liquid ease past MIBR with a 2-0 victory
Liquid prove themselves a real contender for 2021
The second map of day 8 of BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2021 was between Liquid and MIBR. Having just acquired and integrated “FalleN” into their roster, all eyes were set on Liquid to prove themselves. They managed to do exactly that by cruising comfortably through MIBR, winning the series 2-0, and thereby also securing a spot in the Consolidation Final against FaZe.
The BO3-series began over on Vertigo, the newest map in the current map pool. Being MIBR’s map pick it was no surprise that the Brazilians started the strongest out of the two rosters, creating a 5-0 lead for themselves early on. Liquid, however, quickly stopped MIBR in their tracks and only allowed them one single round for the rest of the game. With a mixture of aggression and tactical play Liquid managed to best MIBR 16-6 on the first map on Vertigo.
The second map was to be played over on Inferno. The map was picked by Liquid and with their momentum carrying over from map one, MIBR was faced with a, seemingly, almost impossible task. Despite MIBR putting up more of a fight on Inferno than on Vertigo, it was ultimately too much for them to handle as Liquid closed out Inferno with a 16-9 victory.
The 2-0 victory against MIBR means that Liquid is set to meet FaZe in a battle for a spot in the Group Final of Group C.
