However, these two region/countries are also some of the cornerstones of Counter-Strike having both played a huge role throughout the entire history of the game - also before the birth of CS:GO, with many of the above-mentioned players being former Counter-Strike 1.6 superstars.

The 31-year-old AWP´er FalleN is currently playing under the Imperial banner and recently qualified for the RMR Americas qualifier. Their next match is against Isurus in the RMR as they are trying to reach the IEM Road to Rio 2022.

One would think that it would be extremely beneficial if you could eliminate one of your competitors from the tournament even before the entire thing has started. However, that’s not how Gabriel “FalleN” Soledo’s mind is working.

Because when FalleN saw Kory “SEMPHIS” Friesen, coach for Ex-Gaimin Gladiators, reach out on Twitter for help to get his team to the North/South American RMR in Sweden next month, the Brazilian legend didn’t hesitate to offer a helping hand.

The problem for Ex-Gaimin Gladiators, now Squirtle Squad, is that right before they qualified for the Major qualifier, they were cut from their former organization leaving them without a salary or income. That’s why they started a ‘Gofundme’ to get contributions for travel expenses, their bootcamp costs and more.  

As the Tweet explains, FalleN’s aid will be through his streaming where he will offer some resources to his North American colleagues – despite it being a tournament where FalleN and Imperial also are set to participate in and only offers a limited amount of tickets for the Rio Major later this year.

The $150.000 tournament FiReLEAGUE Global Finals will be held at one of the most mythical stadiums in Europe.

Camp Nou in Barcelona has been the home of FC Barcelona since 1957 and is with its capacity of 99.354 seat one of the biggest stadiums in the world. In October the stadium will be the venue of the FiReLEAGUE Global Finals where at least four South American teams will be present, while two NA qualifiers and one EU qualifier will get the chance of playing in the stadium.

The tournament will be held from the 13th - 16th of October. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's Imperial has received a direct invitation, while 9z qualified in 2021 for the tournament. A second direct invitation is still to be given, while the remaining five spots are reserved for qualifiers.

Two months ago it was announced that the upcoming CS:GO Major will be hosted in the big Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. Despite the massive interest and popularity of CS:GO in South America, it will be the first-ever Major on South American soil.

In OG’s “Monky Business” show on YouTube, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, arguably the biggest personality in Brazilian CS:GO, discussed the Rio Major, discussed the Rio Major. Here FalleN touched on the massive support from Brazilian CS:GO fans and how the Major could attract way more spectators than before.

IEM Rio is set to take place from October 31 to November 13 and will feature 24 from all over the globe.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and the rest of Imperial have been announced as the latest invite for the ESL Challenger tournament taking place in Melbourne, Australia from September 2-4th. The South American icons will therefore join the likes OG, Entropiq and ORDER at the $100.000 LAN event.

The attending list for the Australian tournament is nearing its completion with 7/8 teams being confirmed. The last team will, like Imperial, be invited based on ESL’s world ranking. You can see the team list down below.

There is no doubt that Brazilian CS:GO players are a hot topic on Twitter. The passionate Brazilian fans are always ready to celebrate, defend or hype their heroes. One of the most popular players on the scene has always been Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo. The "Brazilian Professor" of CS:GO was part of the Golden Age for South American CS:GO lovers with two Majors won in 2016.

Since then the results on the server have not been up to the same standards. But according to the Twitter employee Rishi Chadha, the 31-year-old Imperial player is far from forgotten. During the first half year of 2022, FalleN was the most tweeted about esports personality.

When looking at the same list for esports organizations, there is also a Brazilian theme going on. LOUD is the most tweeted about the organization, while FaZe Clan in the fourth place is the highest ranked Organization that has a CS:GO team.

The entire Brazilian Counter-Strike scene will probably be watching tonight when Imperial goes head to head with 00Nation for a spot in the group stage at IEM Cologne. The monster match was made possible after Imperial started the day by defeating the Australians from ORDER.

Imperial needed all three maps to go through, but on the decider map of Nuke, they started out with a 13-2 lead after an impressive CT side. And though ORDER gave it their best in the second half the damage was done. Imperial won Nuke 16-11 and knocked out the Australians.

This sets up a reunion of the five legendary members of Luminosity/SK Gaming, who won two Major in 2016. For Imperial, we have fnx, fer, and Fallen, while coldzera and TACO represent 00Nation. The Brazilian Brawl will be played tonight at 19.30 (CEST).

Just as the one between OG and Entropiq, a battle for survival at the ongoing Roobet Cup 2022 took place when Imperial and Eternal Fire locked horns in a Bo3-series. Both teams failed to secure a victory in their opening match of the event, despite Eternal Fire putting up a great performance against the resilient ENCE roster. Being close, however, does not matter as both Imperial and Eternal Fire stood before the risk of getting eliminated today. A battle between the iconic and experienced Brazilians, led by "FalleN", and a roster filled with nothing but astonishing aimers and players with an unreal amount of mechanical skill. After three intense maps it was the Turkish aimers of Eternal Fire to come out on top as they eliminated Imperial from the event and secured their own life at Roobet Cup 2022. 

The first map of the Bo3-series was picked by Eternal Fire and saw the brawl kick off on Nuke. In addition to being the map pick of Eternal Fire, it is also a map that Imperial have struggled on as of late. In their matches, in the past three months, the Brazilians have only managed to win 36% (11 games). Before entering the server it seemed as if Eternal Fire had every opportunity to hit the ground running and to secure a great start to the Bo3-series on Nuke. This, however, was never the case. A rock-solid defense from Imperial proved almost impossible for Eternal Fire to break through. A cohesive performance with no Imperial player falling behind on the scoreboard meant a 10-5 lead before switching sides at halftime. The second half showcased exactly the same as the first had done, that Imperial were the superior team on Nuke. Two CT-sided rounds were all Eternal Fire collected as they had to see themselves defeated on their own map pick at the scoreline of 16-12. 

The second map of the brawl between Imperial and Eternal Fire was, of course, chosen by Imperial and meant a trip to the infamous Mirage soil. With plenty of experience in the ranks of Imperial and with Mirage being the most played map of all time in CS:GO, it is no surprise that the two are a perfect match, at least on paper. It proved to also be a perfect match once the map had kicked off. Imperial carried on their momentum and punished a seemingly discombobulated Eternal Fire side. Before they even got the chance to get things rolling, the Turkish boys were behind at 8-1 on Mirage. Luckily for Eternal Fire, they managed to claw themselves back to a 9-6 scoreline at halftime. Once the two rosters had switched sides Eternal Fire finally woke up and things became closer and closer until overtime was needed to find a victor. Despite a "FalleN" on fire, the impressive individuals of Eternal Fire proved more resilient after three rounds of overtime. At the scoreline of 25-23, they managed to force a third and final map against Imperial. 

The victor between Imperial and Eternal Fire was set to be found in the heights of Vertigo. After the thriller over on Dust 2, with both rosters waking up and playing extraordinary CS:GO, another close battle was definitely on the cards. And close it came to be. Despite "FalleN" having difficulties with reaching his almost always consistent skill-ceiling, perhaps due to fatigue from the previous map, it was Imperial to come out slightly on top in the first half of Vertigo. At the scoreline of 9-6, the two rosters switched sides and the final half of the Bo3-series ensued. Quickly nullifying the lead from the first half, Eternal Fire tied things up and the rosters were suddenly neck and neck. With next to nothing separating the two teams, they traded rounds back and forth. Ultimately, however, it was the Turkish boys of Eternal Fire to prove more resilient once again. The heroics of "fer" were not enough to save Imperial and at the scoreline of 16-13, they would have to see themselves eliminated from the Roobet Cup 2022.

Roobet Cup 2022 (Group D) - FURIA vs Outsiders (2-0) 

Whilst Imperial and Eternal Fire had their battle, another brawl took place at the Roobet Cup 2022. Just as the one between Imperial and Eternal Fire, survival was up for grabs between FURIA and Outsiders. With FURIA taking a shocking loss in their first match of the event, it seemed as if they were fired up and ready to earn redemption. On Inferno, it was a furious FURIA to steamroll Outsiders and claim victory at 16-6. Whilst it seemed as if Outsiders finally woke up on Vertigo, FURIA remained the stronger side as they claimed victory at 16-10, meaning a confident 2-0 victory in the Bo3-series. 

Eternal Fire

The Brazilians from Imperial handed Finest a 12-16 defeat on Dust2 in Group B’s second match of the day. With the victory, FalleN and company are now through to Group B’s winners’ match where they will be taking upon Astralis on Thursday at 11:00 (CET) for a spot in the upper bracket of playoffs. Meanwhile, Finest will be playing for their tournament lives today at 17:00 (CET) against the former Party Astronauts roster, who is now a part of Evil Geniuses' 15-man pool. If Finest wants to play in front of their home crowd in the playoffs they will have to beat EG.PA as well as the loser of Imperial vs. Astralis.

The Professor, better known as FalleN, truly put up a vintage performance in the Bo1 match against Finest as he finished on top of the scoreboard with a 1.47 Rating and 29 kills.

It was an all-Brazilian brawl when FURIA and Imperial faced each other in the opening round, and the teams decided to take this Bo1 to the PUG-favorite of Mirage.

"VINI" and "FalleN" were the only Imperial players with a convincing T-side effort, which meant that they had a really hard time winning rounds. On the other side, all of the FURIA players were doing a solid day's work. Noone was below double digits in the kill column at halftime which resulted in a dominating 12-3 lead.

FURIA had a much harder time gathering rounds as they arrived on the side of the terrorists. They did still manage to close it out as a result of the massive halftime lead, but a very solid CT side performance from Imperial gives us hope for them going forward.

After G2's loss in the opening round against NAVI, NiKo and the rest of the star-studded roster had their eyes set on Imperial to turn their luck around. 

It started as expected with a 6-1 lead to G2. But FalleN and the rest of the Imperial roster quickly caught up on the action and started to cause G2 a lot of problems. And despite an insane 1vs4 clutch from Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov (see video below), it was not enough to distance Imperial who instead took the lead at 12-11. 

Suddenly the realization began to sink in, that G2 could actually be going 0-2 and be on the brink of elimination in the very early parts of the Legends Stage. On the Livestream Nikola "NiKo" Kovač could be seen shaking his head and talking intensely during a tactical timeout. From here on G2 stepped up and won the dramatic match.

For Imperial, the match was a reminder, that the Brazilians are not done yet at the Legends Stage. It will require a flawless run from here on though to keep FalleN's Last Dance going.

The lowest ranked team at the PGL Major 2022 in Antwerp is Imperial. Currently ranked as the #32 best team in the world, the Brazilians are not only the underdogs of the prestigious event but are averaging the oldest roster out all teams. With an average age of 28.4, the iconic Brazilians will have to draw upon their experience and abbility to remain calm and collected in pressured situations, to make it far at the event.

Two of the oldest, and perhaps most iconic, players within the Imperial line-up, "FalleN" and "fnx" proved just how necessary experience and the ability to remain calm and collected in high-pressure situations is when facing forZe yesterday. After finding themselves left alone against five standing opponents, "fnx" and "FalleN" had to do everything between the two of them to secure the round for their team. 

Finding the perfect opportunities for them to fight and pick apart the five forZe members one by one, the two Brazilians executed a masterclass in remaining composed and clutching a round that seemed impossible otherwise. Thanks to the great synergy between the two and a huge 4K from "FalleN", Imperial managed to put another round on the board thanks to just "fnx" and "FalleN" - take a look:

Duncan "Thorin" Shields, the self-proclaimed Esports Historian, wrote out the tweet after the Brazilian managed to qualify for the Legends Stage at PGL Antwerp with his team Imperial.

The tweet immediately caught the attention of the perhaps best player in history, Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, who responded.

The two of them continued the discussion with Thorin calling s1mple a "midwit", while s1mple returned by calling the Britt a piece of shit and a moron.

The heated discussion ended with Thorin blocking s1mple, while Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo also chimed in with an appreciation tweet to s1mple.

Imperial defied all expectations through the Challengers Stage, defeating forZe 2-0. Their first game of the day was against IHC, where FalleN showed up with 62 frags and ended on the top of the scoreboard on both Mirage and Inferno. 

On the second matchup against forZe, imperial secured their spot at the Legends Stage. The 30-year-old professor led his team Imperial to a 2-0 win against forZe. He was a big part of their win on both maps, and especially on Overpass, he did some great work. The Brazilian godfather seems to have found a bit of the firepower for his new team.

Imperial has secured a spot in the Legends Stage of the PGL Major Antwerp after defeating forZe 2-0. The series began on Overpass with a comfortable 5-16 victory on their map pick, and then the Brazilians closed out things on Mirage.

The action started on Overpass, the pick of Imperial, and came out fired up. Starting on the offense, FalleN’s troops went on a seven-round winning streak, with forZe struggling on their defense, and it seemed like Imperial were bullying their opponents. A performance that pushed Imperial to a stellar first half that left forZe with a mountain to climb going down 11-4. Imperial won the pistol on the second half to make the result almost a conclusion. forZe managed to grab one round before FalleN and company closed out the first map of the series.

The series continued on Mirage, the pick of forZe, but the Russian squad simply couldn't find their level. forZe started on the defense but once again had a slow start, losing the pistol and falling to a 1-5 deficit. They managed to come alive to grab a handful of rounds, but Imperial kept the advantage throughout the whole half 10-5. In the second half, the Brazilians didn’t let a single round slip as they closed the series and qualified for the Legends Stage.

In yesterday's elimination match between Imperial and IHC at the Major, the Mongolian underdogs managed to push Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and his men to the very edge. In the decider on Inferno, the Brazilians were forced to bring their very A-game to secure the victory - including this splendid round on Inferno, where FalleN and fnx brought out two scouts.

The first elimination match of the day was set to feature the Brazilian superstars from Imperial take on IHC from Mongolia, where FalleN and co. just barely dodged an upset loss.

The Bo3 series was set to commence on Mirage. Despite it being IHC’s map pick, it was Imperial that was in control in the beginning, quickly getting a 7-3 lead under the leadership of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo.

The great start didn’t last long as IHC began to crawl back round after round with the Brazilians starting to struggle on CT side. The underdogs ended up turning the 3-7 score into a favorable 13-8 lead, which they eventually also converted to a 1-0 map lead.

With one foot out of the Major, Imperial stood with their backs to the wall on Overpass. However, if there is one person who isn’t ready to leave the tournament, it’s Ricardo “boltz” Prass. On the second map, the Brazilian rifler took the entire Imperial roster on his back by averaging a stellar 1.70 Rating, sending the series to Inferno with a 16-10 victory.

The distinction of experience and routine between the two sides, especially at the Majors, couldn’t be bigger with Imperial having no more than six Major titles under their belt, while none of the IHC players have attended a single Major prior to this. Something, which ended up being quite a decisive factor on the last map of Inferno. Here FalleN and his men took the overall victory through an utterly important 16-12 win

The result means IHC is being eliminated, while Imperial is set to play for a Legends Stage spot tomorrow against another 2-2 team from the Swiss group.

With an average age of 28.4, the Brazilians of Imperial is the oldest roster at the major. But age is just a number, right?

Lincoln "fnx" Lau, 32, started his career all the way back in Counter-Strike 1.6 where he was played for household organizations such as mibr, compLexity, and paiN. In 2016 the rifler was hailed as the 19th best player in the world. The veteran has not been competing at the top level for a long time but has now come back to show that he still has what it takes.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo aka. The Godfather of Brazilian Counter-Strike, 30, is one of the most tenured IGLs in all of CS:GO. At the height of his career, he led the best players in the game, including his current teammates "fnx" and "fer" to many S-tier events wins, including two majors. The impact he has on a team has earned him two spots on the HLTV top20, one as #3.

Ricardo "boltz" Prass, 25, the 18th best player of 2017 has been a part of the professional Brazilian CS:GO scene since 2014. He has been a valuable component of a large number of the biggest Brazilian rosters throughout the last eight years. He placed second at the PGL Major Kraków 2017 as a part of Immortals and won ESL Pro League Season 6 as a part of SK Gaming.

The last player on the Imperial squad is Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo. The 22-year-old is most known for his supportive work in FURIA, where he played for more than four years and was an integral part of the meteoric rise they had in 2018/2019. "VINI" is by far the youngest player on the team, but what he lacks in wisdom he makes up for in skill.

Between them, these five men, who have not been playing together for much more than three months, have six MVPs, countless trophies, and more than 60 years of professional Counter-Strike experience between them.

The team is currently sitting at a 72.7% win rate, and are up 9-5 in maps versus other teams attending the major. The Brazilians have yet to test the waters on the other side of the Atlantic though, as they have only been playing against North- and South American teams since they came together as a squad and were picked up by Imperial.

Imperial will be without their coach Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu, who just a few days ago was banned from the event due to use of the free-roam spectator bug in 2018.

It has been a long time since many of these players have been at the absolute top, but now they once again have to show what they are made of!
