Gambit secure a spot in the Grand final at BLAST Premier World Final
Vitality fell short against nafany company in the upper bracket final.
Gambit finally gets a victory over their nemesis for the year, Vitality, taking down the French side 2-0 after two close maps, 16-13 on Vertigo and 19-17 on Dust2. The Russian squad is ready for the Grand final on Sunday.
The action started on Vertigo, picked by Gambit. But it was Vitality that got off to a strong start, winning the pistol and converting. Gambit found their right footing and began to crawl back into it, managing to steal away the lead at 6-3. Vitality, however, picked themselves up and bagged the remaining rounds to end the first half with a 9-6 advantage. The second half went back-and-forth with both teams in the lead, but Hobb1t was the key in the CT-side effort from the Russians, who got 10 rounds to a 16-13 finish to take their map pick.
Gambit kicked things off on the CT side to a 5-1 lead before Gambit found their feet and put up some rounds of their own. ZywOo and company found more and more success on the offense, as they were able to string together a five-round streak to secure an 8-7 lead in the first half. The second half was a wild affair, where Gambit took an early lead before Vitality came back on track after an unbelievable Deagle ace from ZywOo. From there on it seemed like the momentum was shifted, and the French side took it to 15, but Gambit bounced back to take three in a row to force overtime. In the overtime, Gambit took their T half 2-1, and Vitality couldn't muster anything on their T-side, as nafany found two AWP kills in the final round, and Gambit closed out the map and the series 2-0.
