fnatic win DH Open November over BIG

fnatic bagged the $50,000 first place prize of the DreamHack Open November 2021 event, after defeating BIG 3-0 in the grand final.

The final started off with fnatic dominating the Germans on their pick of Inferno, taking them down 16-3 to draw the first blood to the series. fnatic’s newest member in smooya finished on top on the scoreboard with a 2.07 Rating and 115.7 ADR after dropping 24 frags on the server.

The second map, Vertigo, saw a lot closer affair but with BIG struggling on the offense in the first half. Even though, the Germans started off on the right foot and grabbed the first three rounds, they struggled to add more than 5 rounds on the scoreboard as fnatic ended the first half with a 10-5 advantage. BIG tied up the score at 10-10 after securing the first five rounds in the second half and it seemed like the Germans were going to take their own map pick, as they gained control of the tempo. However, fnatic were the better side in the dying stages of the map and picked up their second map victory to go up 2-0 in the series. Brollan topped the scoreboard with a 24-21 K/D and 86.6 ADR.

More misery was to come for BIG, who this time started off their CT-side on the right foot, bouncing back from a 1-4 deficit to end Ancient’s first half with a single round advantage. But the Germans couldn’t get a grip on the game after the break and once again struggled on the offense, only grabbing two rounds before ALEX’s troops closed out the map 16-10 to wrap up the series 3-0 and claim the title as DH Open champions.
