A 10-match win streak has elevated MOUZ into the position of the current best team in the world according to HLTV's weekly world ranking update.

This is the first time since the introduction of HLTV’s World Ranking in August 2015, that MOUZ finds themselves as the best team in the world.

MOUZ secured the spot after defeating Danil "donk" Kryshkovets and Team Spirit in the Grand Final of the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 tournament adding another win to their 2024 trophy cabinet. MOUZ is now undefeated in ten matches after going through ESL Pro League Season 19 flawless.

The most eye-catching thing about the current iteration of MOUZ is the cohesiveness of the roster, which can be seen in the stats of the players that are very evenly distributed.

If the opening games of the Elimination Round are anything to go by of what we can expect from this stage of the tournament, we are in store for some interesting matches today.

On Mirage, NAVI and TheMongolz almost went the distance, before Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen and his teammates prevailed in the end to secure a 13-10 win.

It got even closer on Overpass in the second match of the day, with MOUZ taking on the hometown heroes from ECSTATIC. The Danes started fast going 5-0 before MOUZ were able to answer back. The match ended up being decided by a 1vs2 clutch from Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin, who saved his new teammates in a situation, where ECSTATIC could have easily run away with the victory.

All four teams are back in action later tonight in the second round of the Elimination Stage.

Ninjas In Pyjamas took down paiN in their opening match at ESL Pro League S17.

Nuke came out as the first map of the series. A great start for Ninjas In pajamas who secured themselves the first pistol round of the game. However, paiN was quick to respond. The Brazillian team bounced back despite falling short in the opening pistol round. A 4-2 lead in favor of paiN was turned around to a decent CT side half in favor of NIP who won the half 9-6. Despite paiN trying their absolute best to make the comeback and even take the lead at 13-12, NIP was the team to come out on top. NIP won paiN´s map pick Nuke 16-13.

Next up, Vertigo. This time paiN was the team to come out and win their duels from the beginning of the map. A 4-0 lead in favor of paiN hasn't enough for them to take the first half. NIP won the first half 9-6 after some impressive rounds by the talented rifler Brollan. Despite a great start on the T side, paiN couldn't keep up with the Ninjas and especially not Brollan who singlehandedly controlled the game and secured his team the best possible start. Ninjas in Pyjamas won Vertigo 16-13.

Ninjas in Pyjamas is ready for the quarter-finals after they took down MIBR in a 16-13 victory on Nuke. NIP with k0nfig as a stand-in played a poor CT side but with great calls from Aleksib, the mixed European team managed to secure themselves their first victory at IEM Katowice 2023 on the T side. 

Ninjas in Pyjamas will face Spirit, who took down Grayhound in a convincing victory. The quarter-final between NIP and Spirit will take place today at 16:00 (CET).

MIBR will take on Grayhound in the lowe-bracket on Thursday at 19:30 (CET) for another chance at advancing in the tournament.

Ninjas in Pyjamas arrive at IEM Rio Major in fine form, with the Swedish squad having experienced an impressive start with their new-look roster. After the former G2 IGL Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen joined the pack, NIP has won five matches in a row only giving up one map against Cloud9.

What to expect from Ninjas in Pyjamas at the Brazilian Major is a tough question to answer. If they could field their superstar AWPer Nicolai “device” Reedtz, things would look a lot different for the Ninjas. With Frederik “REZ” Sterner on the AWP instead of his usual rifle, NIP have to rely much on their star player in Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin.

In the perhaps most exciting match so far at the EU RMR event, Cloud9 won 16-13 against G2. It was Cloud9 in the driver's seat at the beginning, but as the match progressed, Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen started to find the right solutions for his men with Nikola 'NiKo' Kovač providing several multi-kill rounds to fuel the team. But then the tides turned, as Cloud9 managed to set themselves up for success with three of their star players putting in three kills each in the last three rounds to secure success. Ax1Le, sh1ro, and Hobbit all contributed in the end, and can now enjoy their status as a 2-0 team before Day 3.

In the LAN tournament at Pinnacle Cup Championships located in Sweden, Heroic, Astralis and Imperial will be in action today when the group stage continues. Simoustanly, Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022 is set to present its opening round featuring names like NIP, MOUZ and the new-look OG squad.

A European matchup in Dallas was on the cards when the Germans of BIG and the Scandinavians of NIP clashed in a Bo1. The map choice fell upon Ancient, a somewhat curious pick considering the extreme CT side dominance we often see on it.

BIG, starting on the CT side, got off to an early 4-0 lead while looking very comfortable. NIP by way of huge individual rounds, especially from "Brollan", found their way onto the board and in the end managed to get six rounds before the break.

All of the good work that the Ninjas had done on the difficult T side ended up being irrelevant as they were picked apart on the CT side by the thriving German squad.

The first quarter-final saw NIP take on FaZe. The two battled it out through three very different maps.

The Bo3 kicked off on FaZe's pick of Nuke, a brave choice considering that NIP had very recently reamed FURIA with a fantastic CT side.

The first half started out great for the Ninjas who went up 5-0. From this point, FaZe started finding success, and the half ended decently close at 9-6, despite NIP looking in control most of the time, especially with a solid performance from "Plopski" on the A-site.

As FaZe turned to the CT side, they dominated from start to finish only allowing the Ninjas to get one round and no other bomb plants. Much of the credit through this map had to go to the two veterans of the team "rain", and "karrigan", who were responsible for a large percentage of overall and opening kills.

After the disappointing T side on Nuke, the Ninjas performed far better on their own pick of Overpass. Leading the attacks for the Swedes were "Brollan" and "hampus" who regularly found holes in the defense and exploited them to perfection. NIP had seven rounds at halftime.

The second half was almost as close as the first but after 29 rounds of play, the duo of "Brollan" and "hampus" had led their team to victory.

On the defense in the third and final map of Inferno, it was once again "Brollan" and "hampus" that was doing the heavy lifting for the Ninjas who took a solid 8-3 lead. Unfortunately for the Swedes, FaZe had a late half resurgence which meant they only had a single-round lead at halftime.

As FaZe turned to the CT side they made an almost identical repeat of Nuke. They once again completely shut out the Ninjas, the difference however was that this time it was the young star-trio of "ropz", "Twistzz", and "broky" that broke the dreams of the Swedes. FaZe grabbed every single second-half round and are bound for the semi-finals!

A playoff spot was on the line when the Ninjas In Pyjamas took on FURIA. It looked ly a close matchup on paper, but the Brazilians had a hard time containing the Scandinavians.

The action began on Nuke, the pick of FURIA, but the Brazilians would quickly come to regret that. Led by "Plopski", the Ninjas shut down everything the FURIA squad threw at them, and without any hiccups secured the first map at 16-2.

NIP were still going strong as they arrived on their map pick of Inferno. They got off to a great early start on the T side, with a 5-1 lead, but "KSCERATO" and a reinvigorated FURIA finally fought back and took the halftime lead at 8-7.

The Ninjas took over the game as they arrived on the CT side. With "Brollan" doing great work in Banana, FRUIA struggled to find openings. The Brazilians only took two rounds before being pushed out of the server by the Ninjas.

With the win, NIP secure a place in the playoffs while FURIA will have an all-or-nothing match tomorrow.

The long-standing Fnatic rifler Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin completed his transfer to NIP last month, joining forces with the promising Swedish trio of REZ, hampus, and Plopski.

We got the opportunity to speak with the NIP roster at an ESL press session, before the playoffs at ESL Pro League Season 15. Here we asked the captain and IGL Hampus “hampus” Poser about his thoughts on the Brollan signing and what he adds to the roster.

- I have wanted to play with him ever since he left me in Red Reserve all these years back. Getting to play with him again, is almost a dream coming true. Brollan is a very aggressive player and likes to take initiative – he’s the best player in Sweden, so it’s nice to get him, hampus said.

NIP is currently competing in ESL Pro League Season 15, where they have managed to qualify for the quarterfinals. Here hampus and company will take on Liquid in a fierce Bo3 series this Thursday at 19:00 (CET). 

Despite having completed his move, Brollan will have to wait to make his official debut due to the 19-year-old Swede not being registered.

The Swedish super talent Ludvig ”Brollan” Brolin is a new member of NIP, the iconic organization confirms on Twitter.

Rumours of the blockbuster transfer began last month when HLTV reported that NIP was ready to splash no more than €600.000 for the promising Swede.

Brollan has played for NIP's rivals Fnatic since October 2018. It is still unknown, who he will replace in the current lineup, where Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is also a questionmark going forward.

It was a heavily decimated Fnatic roster who arrived in Düsseldorf last week to compete at the 15th season of ESL Pro League. The Swedish-based team were set to play without their star duo in Brollan and KRIMZ, as they also lacked a permanent AWPer due to the release of Smooya.

Fnatic ended up picking their two Fnatic youngsters, Peppzor and Banjo, alongside the former Complexity AWPer, poizon, as replacements for the $823.000 event. Something that worked out pretty well for Fnatic, as they managed to take down G2, MOUZ and LFO to secure a playoff spot.

Before the final round of Group A, Fnatic head coach, Jamie “keita” Hall spoke with ESL to talk about playing with three stand-ins and still managing to qualify for playoffs.

- I can’t say that we had the time to have 1-on-1 sessions with them (stand-ins). He literally landed on the day we were playing. We have been lucky that we had late games so we could practise before the games, looking at previous games and correcting stuff as we go, keita said to ESL and continued:

Last week, [link:{"url":"https://www.hltv.org/news/33327/nip-line-up-bid-for-brollan","isNewTab":true,"text":"HLTV "}]could report that the Swedes from NIP had lined up a bid for Fnatic’s Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin. The deal was allegedly around €600.000.

However, that’s a bit too low for Fnatic.

According to the media site, [link:{"url":"https://news.jaxon.gg/keeping-brollan-hostage-fnatic-demand-e750k-more-than-price-of-nips-device/","isNewTab":true,"text":"Jaxon"}], the Swedish organization demands a total of €750.000 for their 19-year-old star rifler, sources close to the transfer has stated.

If the Brollan transfer goes through, it will leave Fnatic’s roster in shambles leaving the team without their star rifler but also without an AWPer, due to the recent benching of Owen “smooya” Butterfield.

According to HLTV, Ninjas in Pyjamas have set their eyes on Fnatic's Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin to strengthen their roster. The Stockholm based Organization should be ready to buy the 19-year-old Swede for a reported fee of €600,000.

The article was published shortly after Fnatic announced, that "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Brollan will not be competing in the upcoming Major Qualifiers this week. We are disappointed with this outcome but will be working with Brollan to return him to the server as soon as possible. Further updates to come.

There are currently no indications of who Brollan will replace on NIP if the transfer goes through.

Fnatic was knocked out of IEM Katowice by Astralis, who have also made changes today.

Just like the Bo3-series between G2 and FURIA, everything was on the line when fnatic and Astralis entered the server for an important clash. Having to come to terms with the fact that they are no longer a consistent force to be reckoned with, Astralis needed a victory against fnatic in order to prove themselves, as well as to stay alive at the event. At first, it seemed as if the Danes were destined to fail against fnatic, however, once things turned around, they proved themselves a difficult beast to handle. Claiming a 2-1 victory after taking home Ancient, it was the Danes of Astralis to secure a spot in the Lower Final of Group B.

The first map of the Bo3-series was to be played on the soil of Inferno. Being the most played map of 2021, you would imagine Inferno to be a map that both teams would feel comfortable on. However, once Inferno had kicked off it seemed as if Astralis were everything but comfortable. A relentless offensive from fnatic, led by “Brollan”, tore Astralis apart for the first 9 rounds of play. It wasn’t until the 10th round that Astralis finally woke up, strung together 6 consecutive round wins, and salvaged their CT-sided half. Once the two teams had switched sides it was clear that Astralis had woken up. With confidence, the Danes managed to break through fnatic’s defense and ultimately secure a 16-11 victory on Inferno.

The second map of the Bo3-series took place on Overpass and was picked by Astralis. Despite Overpass being Astralis’ map pick, it was fnatic to take control from early on. An on-fire “smooya” occupied the top of the leaderboard for fnatic as they dominated a seemingly discombobulated Astralis roster. Not allowing the Danes more than 6 rounds on Overpass it was the British-Swedish roster of fnatic to force a third and final map in the Bo3-series with a 16-6 victory on Overpass.

The third and final map of the Bo3-series was set to take place on Ancient, a map that both teams are fairly unfamiliar with. After having been dominated completely on Overpass it was an Astralis roster that would have to pick themselves back up of the ground and regain some of the momentum lost on the previous map. The Danes managed to do exactly that and brought the fight to fnatic. A close decider ensued as either team refused to give their opponent an inch. Ultimately overtime was needed to find the better team. On the day it proved that the better team was Astralis as they closed out the, otherwise messy, series to their own advantage when beating fnatic 19-15 on Ancient.
