FaZe one loss away from elimination at IEM Rio!
Team Vitality got the best of FaZe in the bo1 match on Inferno.
The defending champions from PGL Antwerp are in danger of an early exit in Rio. Both FaZe and Vitality have been unlucky with the matchups in the bo1 matches on Day 1 facing Cloud9 and NAVI in the opening round.
On Inferno, it was pure domination from Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut. A 21-6 K-D scoreline after the first half told the story of a masterclass performance from the very talented Frenchman.
Vitality took a 12-3 lead with them to the second half, where they immediately won the pistol round. FaZe tried to start a comeback, but the Vitality roster was simply on another level. FaZe lost 16-6 and will have to quickly recover tomorrow or else it is game over for the defending champions. Vitality on the other hand is looking like a team, that has found itself at the exact right moment with two good matches against NAVI and FaZe.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow.
