FaZe Clan is an American professional esports and entertainment organization founded in 2010. The CS:GO team was established in 2016 when FaZe acquired G2's roster for a reported fee of $700.000.
Since then there have been numerous roster changes along the way. The only original member still active on the roster is Håvard "rain" Nygaard, who was part of G2 before been bought by FaZe. The Norwegian rifler has played +1150 competitive maps for FaZe.
Between 2017 and 2019 the team enjoyed much success with multiple victories in some of the biggest CS:GO tournaments. A superteam was born with the addition of Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer Gustafsson, Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovacs and Finn "karrigan" Andersen as the in-game leader.
But to the disappointment of many, the team never won a Major in the early years of CS:GO. They came close in 2018 at the ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018. Here it was only a fairytale run from Cloud 9, that ended the hopes of a FaZe Major win in the Grand Final.
In 2019 the results began to decline, and the era of roster changes started. Finn "karrigan" Andersen was transferred to mousesports leaving the in-game role up for grabs. Unfortunately, FaZe did not solve the leadership problem until 2021, when they signed the Danish in-game leader once again.
From here on FaZe went on a winning spree, and finally managed to win a Major. In Antwerp 2022, FaZe lifted the trophy after a stellar showing in the tournament. Håvard "rain" Nygaard was named MVP of the tournament.
Later on, they also took down the Intel Grand Slam Season 4 winning $1,000,000.
