Eternal Fire qualify for the Elimination Stage in Copenhagen
The Turkish roster defeated GamerLegion in a three-map thriller.
In the “2-1” bracket of the Opening Stage of PGL Major Copenhagen, Eternal Fire and GamerLegion crossed paths in the first match of the day. Both teams came out blazing on their map picks to quickly move the match to the decider map of Vertigo. Here the neutral spectators finally got an evenly balanced match to watch.
Eternal Fire went 7-5 up on their T side, before GamerLegion found momentum to close the gap. But then İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş (20-11 in K-D on Vertigo) popped off to give Eternal Fire the necessary push to win the match.
GamerLegion still has the chance to qualify tomorrow.
Lynn Vision lost the Asian derby against TheMongolz after two maps, where the Mongolians once again showed, that they are the best team from the region at the moment. Lynn Vision is out of the tournament, after having lost three matches in the Opening Stage.
On both Ancient and Anubis TheMongolz got off to a 9-3 start before cruising home the victory in the second half of the maps. Garidmagnai 'bLitz' Byambasuren and his teammates are now ready for the 2-2 decider round tomorrow, where the last three teams for the Elimination Stage will be found.
