There is nothing evil or genius about Evil Geniuses these days. The North American roster was tasked with a difficult job today against the Turkish lineup from Eternal Fire.

On Anubis, both XANTARES and Calyx had a field day against the struggling NA team. Eternal Fire won 16-6 with ease before moving on to Overpass. Here it quickly turned sour for EG, who had to start the second half with a 2-13 deficit. But much to their credit they actually amounted to a comeback with Timothy 'autimatic' Ta and Jerric 'wiz' Jiang leading the team almost all the way back. But in the end, the lead for Eternal Fire was too big to catch.

In the other early match of the day, MIBR won 2-0 against IHC. The match was fairly even on both Inferno and Anubis. It was the T side of MIBR that carried the Brazilians through winning 9-4 and 10-5 on the two maps. 

With the win MIBR advance to the lower semi-finals, where they face the loser of Cloud9 and G2. IHC drops down to the Last Chance Stage, where they face Evil Geniuses on Saturday.

Eternal Fire, 1WIN, and Astralis all secured qualification to the Paris EU RMR tournament from Group A at the closed online EU RMR tournament today.

Astralis was the most prominent team among the remaining teams in the group after G2 secured qualification yesterday.

The Danes had to work their way through SAW who took Astralis out on all three maps to settle the score. On the last map of Inferno, the match was all even, but luckily for Astralis their new young player Christian 'Buzz' Andersen went above and beyond what could have been expected from the youngster. Buzz went 29-17 on the map that went all 30 rounds before Astralis could celebrate winning 16-14.

Eternal Fire took a quick 2-0 victory against the British team Into the Breach. On both Nuke and Vertigo, it was Ismailcan 'XANTARES' Dörtkardeş leading the pack, closely followed by Ömer 'imoRR' Karataş who had a good game with the AWP.

The revitalized 1WIN roster was also celebrating after winning 16-9, 16-9 against the Danes from Tricked. Kirill 'Boombl4' Mikhailov and the rest of 1WIN won all four halves in a comfortable win.

We started off the year with NAVI on top of the world ranking after a stellar 2021 season, and then it was FaZe’s turn to rule things with their dominant wins at IEM Katowice, PGL Major Antwerp, and IEM Cologne – Now it seems like the throne is up for grabs with no clear favourite.

Everything was on the line for both Aurora and Eternal Fire. Both teams had lost their two opening matches at the EU RMR and were facing elimination at the next loss. 

The dangerous duo of woxic and XANTARES did everything they could to help the Turks win the first map of Vertigo. Both ended the map above 100 in ADR, which was more than enough to secure a 16-9 win.

On Mirage it was Eternal Fire, who again won the first half. And again it was XANTARES and woxic leading the pack with another top performance. But Aurora found the momentum towards the end of the map, which was enough to secure overtime. Here KaiR0N and the rest of the CIS roster managed to take Eternal Fire down and win Mirage.

Nuke was the setting for the last map. Here Eternal Fire fought off the CIS team to win their first match of the event and stay alive at the RMR tournament.

That was the cruel fate that İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş experienced last week at ESL Pro League Season 16. Here the Turkish rifler presented a completely outstanding level of CS for Eternal Fire against the strong CIS youngsters from Cloud9, dictating the server and outplaying his opponents round after round.

At Roobet Cup 2022 we have reached the Quarter-Finals, where BIG and Eternal Fire go head to head in the first matchup. Later today it is Cloud9 who faces 9z.

The first two Quarter-Finals of Roobet Cup will be played out later today. Both matches are highly anticipated with BIG taking on Eternal Fire. This will be the first match for İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş against his former teammates from BIG. The Turkish rifler has been the best player on his team so far at the event, but how will he do against BIG?

Later on 9z face Cloud9, where Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov has shown incredible form lately.

The second day of Roobet Cup 2022 is well underway with two teams having secured their first victory at the event already. In a brawl for a good start to their event run, two exciting teams locked horns as either ENCE or Eternal Fire would walk away with their victory of the event. ENCE have been on fire recently and whether or not they can continue their great form is something that many have looked forward to witnessing. On the other hand, the Turkish fire-squad of Eternal Fire packs a serious punch, contains great aimers all around, and might very well be a dark horse at the event. Whilst there are still games to be played in Group C, it was ENCE who secured the better start to the event out of the two rosters. Three maps concluded with the mixed-European roster as the victors. 

The first map of the Bo3-series was picked by Eternal Fire and took place on Dust 2. With great aimers and players with an extraordinary amount of mechanical skill like "XANTARES" and "woxic" it is perhaps no surprise that the Turkish stars opted for Dust 2 as their map pick. It was also Eternal Fire to come flying out of the gate on Dust 2. Proving why they are to be feared in almost every aim-duel, they secured a great T-sided half at the scoreline of 10-5. However, as the two rosters switched sides it was ENCE to finally wake up. Clawing themselves back it was ENCE to level things with an equally impressive T-side. At 15-15, the two rosters went into overtime to find a victor. Here Eternal Fire, despite an incredible performance from "imoRR", had to see themselves bested. At 19-17 ENCE proved more resilient and took home Dust 2 as the victors. 

The second map of the Bo3-series took place on Nuke and was, of course, picked by ENCE. "Snappi" and his troops have seemed almost impossible to beat on the concrete of Nuke and were sitting on a win rate of 83% in the past three months (18 maps) before facing Eternal Fire on the map. As incredible as the mixed-Europeans of ENCE had been on Nuke as of late, as much did they crumble when put against the Turkish boys of Eternal fire. A powerful start to their CT-side quickly catapulted Eternal Fire into a lead that kept on growing. Failing to find a way past the Turkish defense, ENCE had to see themselves behind at the scoreline of 13-2. ENCE would have to pull off an incredible comeback to stay alive in the second half of Nuke. Such a comeback never became a reality, however, and at 16-8, it was Eternal Fire to force a third and final map in the series. 

The third and final map was set to be Vertigo. An exciting battle was on the cards as both rosters are more than comfortable in the heights of Vertigo, sitting on a win rate of +70% in the past three months. After being battered on Nuke it was a more ready ENCE roster that started on the T-side of Vertigo. with "dycha" waking up after a shakey Nuke performance, the ENCE boys managed to secure a slim 8-7 lead going into the second half of the third map. The second saw ENCE add to their lead as Eternal Fire had difficulty with breaking down "Snappi's" defense. Ultimately it was ENCE to claim victory on Vertigo at the scoreline of 16-11, meaning a 2-1 victory and three points in ENCE's first game at Roobet Cup 2022.

Roobet Cup 2022 (Group D) - Outsiders vs forZe (1-2) 

Whilst ENCE and Eternal Fire had their battle, another brawl took place within the Roobet Cup 2022 event. Two great CIS rosters locked horns as Outsiders and forZe looked for their victory at the event. A dominating victory at the scoreline of 16-8 saw Dust 2 be claimed by Outsiders. Way closer was the two rosters' battle on Inferno. With very little separating the two rosters, 29 rounds were needed to find a victor. Ultimately it was forZe to take home Inferno at the scoreline of 16-13. The third and final map was set to take place on Ancient. forZe proved the better roster on Ancient and at the scoreline of 16-12, they were able to walk away from the Bo3-series with three well-deserved points against Outsiders.

At the LAN event in Jönköping, Sweden there are only two matches left in the tournament.

Endpoint, MIBR, Eternal Fire, and Outsiders all won their two opening matches to secure qualification for ESL Pro League Season 16. All four teams won their matches without dropping a map. Evgeniy "FL1T" Lebedev (Outsiders), Guy "Nertz" Iluz (Endpoint), and İsmailсan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş (Eternal Fire) all ended with a rating above 1.45 for the four maps played.

Today the last two spots for the tournament will be found. In the first match, it will be an all-even French derby, when Falcons face HEET. In the second match, Illuminar from Poland will go head to head with FTW from Portugal.

We are approaching the halfway mark of the year with the first six months soon to be concluded. And with the first Major championship being completed as well, we have decided to take a look at the best performing individuals in CS:GO so far this year.

Despite FaZe’s supremacy and impressive wins at IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League Season 15, and PGL Major Antwerp, it’s once again NAVI’s superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev who’s topping the charts. Worth mentioning are ENCE’s strong rifler Lotan “Spinx” Giladi and Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş from Eternal Fire, who both are to be found among the Top 10.

When talking about raw mechanical skill it would be wrong not to mention Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş. When talking about the Turkish rifler it is impossible not to mention the "XANTARES peek" - a peek so deadly and unique that it is called after the player himself. "XANTARES" is no longer synonymous with BIG as he was placed on the transfer list back in August 2021. Instead, he joined forces with Eternal Fire and created an all-Turkish powerhouse.

However, whilst he is no longer a part of the notorious BIG machine, you will never be able to take the impeccable level of individual skill, that he has been able to showcase on the biggest of stages, away from him. When it comes to one-on-one duels you do not wish to face "XANTARES" as your opponent. 

The 26-year-old "XANTARES" is still one of the best performing players in CS:GO, all be it against lesser teams than the likes of "s1mple" and "ZywOo", and is currently sitting on a rating of 1.27 for matches played in the past three months. 

Take a look at some of the times "XANTARES" shocked the CS:GO scene and made everyone afraid of the "XANTARES peek": 

The $1,000,000 tournament is starting next week. Here 16 teams will fight to make it into the Legends stage of the Major.

The Finnish Organization will be one of the hottest going into the Major. Their win at BLAST Spring Showdown underlined their perfectly timed form. In the Challengers stage, ENCE will face 9z Team in the first round.

Player to watch: Lotan "Spinx" Giladi is playing some of the best Counter-Strike in his career. If the Israeli can perform on the big stage, he could be one of the best players in the tournament.

trace has been promoted as headcoach on a permanent basis after several good performances.

The four-time Major winners are beginning to look good again. The signing of Asger "farlig" Jensen on the AWP and Martin "trace" Heldt as a coach has been a revelation for the Danes. For the first time in a year, it is actually looking promising for Astalis, who was only bested by ENCE in the Grand Final of BLAST Spring Showdown last week.

Player to watch: If Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke can deliver consistently on a high level, then Astralis will be a dangerous team at the Major. With Benjamin "blameF" Bremer already in excellent shape, it could be real fun for the fans of Astralis if k0nfig also fired on all cylinders at the event.

The French/Danish roster had one of the most difficult routes to Antwerp with matches against #1 and #2 in the world. In the end they still qualified and it did look better for the team. Most notable was the rise of Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who finally showcased his great talent on the new roster.

Player to watch: All eyes will be on the young Frenchman Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier. The 19-year-old rifler has suffered the most from the switch from the all-French roster to the new international one. With four events in row below 1.00 rating there will be talks about replacing misutaaa on the team, if doesn’t deliver at PGL Antwerp.

The Grand Finalist from the 2021 Major in Stockholm are looking shaky in 2022. They started well with the second place at IEM Katowice, but since then the performances on the server have not been impressive. Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač is the only player on the team with consistent performances. The alarm bells were ringing after they lost their opening match against Anonymo at the RMR qualifier, but in the end they got the job done with a win against Astralis in overtime on the decider map. We could easily see G2 make a slow start to the Challenger Stage but still qualify.

Player to watch: Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov will be playing his first major at the age of 17-years-old. There will be a huge pressure on the young AWP’er to perform on the biggest stage. So how will he do? We are looking forward to seeing him at the Major.

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo’s new project got off to a great start qualifying for the Antwerp Major and then went on to also qualify for IEM Dallas. The Brazilians took down MIBR at the Dallas qualifier to prove, that they could be the second strongest team from South America after FURIA.

Player to watch: Lincoln "fnx" Lau has one of the most crazy stats in all of CS:GO. The 32-year-old Brazilian have won two Majors in his career but have only ever attended two. He has a 100% win-rate at Majors, so who wouldn’t have him on their team at a Major?

There are a lot of teams in contention for the last three spots. The Swiss Group Stage format can be brutal for teams in this echelon. Eternal Fire got the taste of it at the European RMR tournament, where they were paired with FaZe and Team Vitality along their way. This time they will face Bad News Eagles in an early key match. A win will most likely give the Turks a big boost towards qualifying for the Legends stage.

Player to watch: Ismailcan 'XANTARES' Dörtkardeş is back at a Major for the third time in his career. The Turkish rifler is coming in hot at the event with several huge performances during 2022 for Eternal Fire.

They looked really good at the Americas RMR tournament, but the big question is if that was a one-off. Since they qualified for Antwerp MIBR has lost to both Imperial and paiN. Their opening match against Outsiders will be pivotal. MIBR rarely plays against Europeans, so it is hard to predict the faith of the Brazilians at the event.

Player to watch: Jhonatan "JOTA" Willian has never played against a top 20 team in the world! So how will he do against tougher opposition?

The sheer amount of experience on the Team Liquid roster should be enough to see them qualify for the next stage. But the results of the new roster have not been convincing in the past couple of months. Their last match was a loss against paiN at the BLAST Spring Showdown, which again ignited the doubters of the team. The North Americans enter the tournament with a Contender status, which has given them a tough draw in the first round, where they will face G2. We still believe that the stars of Liquid find a way through.

Player to watch: Is Richard "shox" Papillon the right fit for Team Liquid? This Major will probably give us the answer. The 29-year-old veteran has always been a joy to watch, but can he still deliver for Team Liquid?

It is a tough time for all the CIS teams at the moment. The war in Ukraine has certainly had its influence on the competitive CS:GO scene as well. Outsiders (Virtus.pro) have been a shadow of themselves. They were 0.02 seconds away from missing out on the Major, while rumors are already sending their starplayer Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis away to join a new team after the Major.

forZe and Spirit could also be dark horses for a spot in the next stage, while Bad News Eagles are the last team, that we have chosen to highlight. We are soon a quarter deep into the year, with the first four months having presented a myriad of blockbuster transfers, FaZe’s two impressive victories at IEM Katowice and ESL Pro League S15, and NAVI’s following drop from the CS:GO throne. Something, not many would have thought going into 2022.

We have decided to take a look at the best performing individuals at the top of CS:GO so far this year – and by looking at the statistics, it’s no shock that most of the leaderboards are topped or represented by NAVI’s Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.

Worth mentioning are Heroic’s powerful rifler Martin “stavn” Lund and Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş from Eternal Fire, who both are to be found among the very best performers.

Eternal Fire remains alive at the PGL Major Antwerp Europe RMR A following a 2-1 win over Fnatic this Tuesday. That means Alex “ALEX” McMeekin and the rest of Fnatic loses their chance of making it to the Belgium Major.

After having won the opening map, Özgür 'woxic' Eker and his Turkish teammates took the lead at the break on the second map 8-7. But Fnatic found momentum on their CT side on Inferno to put the match to Overpass.

For the third map straight the score was 8-7 at the break leaving no doubt, that a thriller ending was on the cards. For a while, it looked like Fnatic would eliminate their Turkish counterparts, but then Yasin 'xfl0ud' Koç delivered a spectacular 1vs2 clutch to break the economy and the spirit of Fnatic. From here on there was only one team on the server. Eternal Fire is now 2-2 at the RMR event and will need to win another match to qualify tomorrow.
