BIG win first match at BLAST Premier Spring
The German-side from BIG made a clean sweep against OG in their first match at the tournament.
Big International Gaming got their BLAST Premier Spring Groups campaign off to a dream start as they took down OG 2-0 in their first appearance at the $150.000 tournament. A strong performance from syrsoN helped his team to move past the European-mixture squad and secure a spot in the upper final where they will face off Ninjas in Pyjamas for a spot in the Group A Final. OG will now have to make a run in the lower bracket to reach the final and they are set to face Astralis in an elimination match.
The action started on Inferno where OG got off to the best start with a 5-1 lead. When BIG’s money started to build up, they managed to string together 5 rounds in a row and stop OG from storming to a bigger lead, finishing off a close first half 8-7. The second half began with BIG in the driving seat as they won the opening three rounds before OG picked up 5 in a row to take the lead 11-12. BIG finally unlocked the OG defense in the rest of the half as they also strung 5 in a row to close the map 16-12.
BIG closed out the series on the second map of the series (Dust2) with style, coming out on top after a hard-fought victory where the two teams fired on all cylinders. The German-side came back from a 1-7 deficit in the first half and won some important key moments in the second half to take the victory.
