Just announced on the teams official Twitter page, BIG have said their final goodbyes to Florian "syrsoN" Rische. The 27-year-old AWP'er parts ways with the Berlin giants after a three-year-long spell at German roster. After joining in 2020, the talented AWP'er helped BIG reach incredible upsets against some of the biggest teams on the biggest of stages. Now, however, "syrsoN" will have to look elsewhere to further his Counter-Strike career. 

Perhaps "syrsoN" won't be 'offline' for too long, as reports of an international move have surfaced. 00NATION are reportedly in talks of signing a new-look squad of four experienced players Thomas "birdfromsky" Due-Frederiksen, Florian "syrsoN" Rische, Jon "JDC" de Castro, and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen. Finalizing the five-man roster is young and talented Tim "susp" Ångström. 

The five players played under the name "QM" at the current Pinnacle Cup V. The roster faced Spirit in the opening round of play, where they managed to take the CIS-roster of Spirit through all three maps. "syrsoN" and QM ultimately lost to Spirt, however, their performance didn't go unnoticed. Whether or not 00NATION will sign the five players under their banner is still unknown. "syrsoN", however, seems eager to continue his career elsewhere after being released by BIG.

The Germans from BIG should not be worried about losing their highest-rated player Florian “syrsoN” Rische according to Casper “cadiaN” Møller. In fact, the Heroic captain is sure that BIG are better suited with the younger Marcel “hyped” Köhn than with the star AWPer.

In a post-match segment after Heroic’ 2-1 victory over BIG yesterday, cadiaN and Rasmus “sjuush” Beck sat down with ESL for a chat about Counter-Strike, where he also touched on the recent roster change on BIG.

- Let me say something controversial here. BIG will be better [with hyped] than with syrsoN. I don’t want to judge anyone… I’m just giving my perception, cadiaN said and elaborated:

- When you have a player [syrsoN] that gets three kills or his teammate gets three kills and he’s still just sitting with no emotions giving no energy and no hype. I don’t see him talking ever - like in these BLAST videos where they are recording, I never see him talk.

The Danish veteran then explained what he sees as key ingredients in a teammate and how he believes a CS:GO team should function.

- For me at least and how we play Counter-Strike, is five people who constantly have to communicate and hype each other up, and when you’re dead you have to supervise the other guys. So a young guy who’s hungry, who wants to work and be more of a part of the BIG philosophy, I believe in that.

Florian “syrsoN” Rische, who currently plays for the German esports organization BIG, showed off his incredible skills with the Scout during a recent game against a team of FACEIT level 10 players.

In the second round of the game, syrsoN took up a position at Suicide on Dust2, anticipating an enemy push through the middle of the map. When all five enemies charged toward him, syrsoN calmly and quickly eliminated them all with a Scout in his hands, securing the round for his team.

This is not the first time syrsoN has impressed with his skills. The BIG players has been playing professionally since 2015 and has established himself as one of the best snipers in the game.

BIG has announced on their Twitter that Marcel "hyped" Köhn will be promoted from the academy roster to the main team. Back in early February, 26-year-old Florian "syrsoN" Rische decided to beach himself with immediate effect after some disappointing results from the German roster.

BIG´s new AWPer hyped, has already played with the active lineup of the BIG first team. The 21-year-old stepped in as a stand-in for the German side when they attended the European closed qualifier for IEM Brazil 2023. Going through the lower bracket hyped stood tall against their opponents and secured BIG their qualifier spot. The young AWPer averaged a 1.25 rating across the 12 maps that the German team played throughout the qualifier. 

BIG play their next tournament 1st of Match 2023 when they take upon the North American team Complexity at the ESL Pro League Season 17. 

Florian “syrsoN” Rische is not on the active lineup in BIG at this very moment. The official note is that the star AWPer has stepped down due to personal reasons with the organization not informing additional information about his future.

BIG is set to play without Florian "syrsoN" Rische when attending the IEM Brazil Closed Qualifier. The decision came right after their disappointing finish at IEM Katowice where they only managed to get 13-16th place. The German star has decided to beach himself with immediate effect. 

BIG is set to field its roster with their academy AWPer Marcel "hyped" köhn who has been playing for the academy team for over a year. BIG took upon Monte in their opening match yesterday and after a three-map series Marcel "hyped" köhn saw himself losing his debut match for the first team. However, the Germans bounced back and took down the young and talented roster Sprout in their following game. BIG will face HEET in the lower bracket semi-final today at 15:30 (CET).

Berlin International Gaming, more commonly known as BIG, has booked a ticket for the next stage at IEM Rio Major following the footsteps of MOUZ and Bad News Eagles.

That became a reality moments ago when the German top team sealed the victory against the underdogs from 9z in the 2-1 progression match. A matchup that BIG ended up controlling for the majority of the time – especially on the first map on Nuke where Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz and company posted a crushing 16-4 win.

BIG managed to close out the series on their own map pick of Dust2, despite 9z stepping up massively compared to the massacre on the map before. Yet, it was not enough to evade the 2-0 loss for the South Americans, who still has a shot left to make it to the Legends Stage.

BIG has been dubbed as the big outsider at BLAST Fall Showdown to prevent either Heroic or Team Vitality to qualify for the Royal Arena in Copenhagen.

The Germans had to take down Sangal in their opening match at the event, but that proved to be a tough task for tabseN and his men.

On the solid ground on Dust2, BIG had no problems winning their own map pick. A high-flying Florian "syrsoN" Rische performed incredibly with 23 AWP kills of the 30 kills he delivered during Dust2.

But on Inferno, BIG was once again exposed. With two wins in all of 2022 on the map, BIG still has a lot of work to do on the map. Sangal scored 10 rounds on their T-side and followed through as CT’s. A 16-9 win for Sangal took the match into Vertigo.

The upset alarm bells were ringing before the decider map. Vertigo is not usually a good map for BIG, while Sangal has taken down teams such as MOUZ and ECSTATIC recently. BIG started out winning the first half 9-6, and just kept on pushing in the second half. syrsoN once again came on fire, but at 15-10, BIG fell completely apart. Sangal took over the server and forced the match to overtime, where they eliminated BIG after an impressive comeback!

Sangal is now through to the Semi-Finals, while BIG is out of the event.

It was an all-or-nothing match for BIG and K23 on the last day of the EU RMR event in Malta.

Both teams were 2-2 in Group B and needed a victory to qualify. It all started with an overtime victory for K23 on their map pick of Inferno. BIG was now only a map away from elimination, but the Germans kept their heads cool. Mirage was won by 16-11 to give way for a dramatic ending.

Dust2 turned out to be an intense and epic map, with several impressive clutches both ways. K23's Konstantin 'Raijin' Trubarov had some massive impact rounds to keep K23 in the match and forced the third and final map to another overtime. 

But here BIG got the job done. Perhaps it was lack of experience that played a part in the end, but K23 lost momentum and lost all rounds in the overtime, and lost their opportunity to go to the Major in Rio.

BIG became the first team in five weeks to take down Team Vitality. The deed was done on Dust2, where it was a strong gameplan on the CT-side, that proved to be Vitality's kryptonite.

Like yesterday it was the duo of tabseN and syrsoN, that made the damage for BIG, who ran away with the win in the second half. An impressive feat for the Germans, who are currently playing wih s1n as a stand-in on the team.

BIG is now 2-0 up, and has three chances to qualify for the IEM Rio Major.

From the first second of the match between BIG and Sangal there was a difference in class between the two teams.

On Mirage it was one-way action from the get-go where Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz and Florian "syrsoN" Rische had a feast. The two BIG players shut down any attempts from Sangal to break the defense and caused huge problems for the underdogs. Fellow German Robin "ScrunK" Röpke had a nightmare of a first half going 1-14, which was the same score, that Sangal was trailing with after the first half.

Sangal managed to win two rounds after the break, but that was nowhere near enough to change the fact, that BIG was just on another level. Both teams are back on the server tomorrow.

The word "onliners" is often used to describe players or teams, who have difficulties performing at LAN events in CS:GO. We have looked at the stats from 2022 to see which players has the biggest drop in performances from online to LAN. We have taken all players with a minimum of 10 maps on both LAN and online against top 30 opponents.

Therefore we asked Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen to take a look at the demos from Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen, Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás, and Florian "syrsoN" Rische with the latter being dubbed an onliner several times before in his career.

Having just been crowned the champions of Roobet Cup 2022, BIG are currently on a roll. The German machine is known for being cohesive and to never give up, no matter the opponent. When having their first brawl at the IEM Cologne Play-In, the same pattern was apparent. Facing the lesser team in Australian ORDER, BIG had an absolute field-day. Remaining composed and clinical the Germans took home the victory against ORDER and got off to a great start to their IEM Cologne run. 

The map chosen for the brawl between BIG and ORDER came to be Nuke. Whilst it is a map that ORDER have previously proven themselves more than capable on, it is also a map were BIG is one scary opponent to face. Starting on the arguably favored CT-side, the German Machine began its terror. With "syrsoN" and "tabseN" leading the charge a dominant 12-3 lead was created for the Germans before switching sides. Whilst ORDER managed to claw back a couple of rounds in the second half it was all too little too late. At the scoreline of 16-7, it was BIG to claim their first IEM Cologne 2022 victory.

CIS Counter-Strike might be at an all-time high. Not far behind Natus Vincere and Cloud 9 stands another great CIS roster by the name of Outsiders. In their first match at the IEM Cologne Play-In event, they faced the Iconic Brazilians of Imperial. In a dominant fashion, Outsiders proved to be the better team out of the two rosters. At the scoreline of 16-6, Outsiders claimed their first victory. 

Astralis is not what it once used to be, that is for sure. When facing 00NATION in their first Bo1-series on the map of Mirage, this became apparent once again. The Danes seemed unprepared for the Brazilians and at the somewhat embarrassing scoreline of 16-6 they would have to admit defeat.

With Roobet Cup 2022 having just ended it is time to take a look at how the players at event managed to perform. BIG managed to take down FaZe in the Grand Final and became the champions of Roobet Cup 2022, however, there were plenty of players from various different teams that stood out in their brawls throughout the event, take a look at the top five players at Roobet Cup 2022 based on accumulative rating. 

Taking the number one spot when it comes to accumulative rating throughout the event is "sh1ro". You have probably gotten used to his name by now, and for good reason. Whilst Cloud 9 didn't make it to the Grand Finals it was by no means because of "sh1ro". The young and calculated AWP'er was not only the highest-rated player at the entire event but also managed to secure the highest kills pr. round at 0.89. Another phenomenal event from the shining star of Cloud 9.

You are probably thinking, I've heard this story, before to yourself and you are not wrong. Once again Astralis didn't manage to make it to the Grand Finals of an event, and once again "blameF" was the only player putting up an impressive performance for the iconic Astralis name. The hulk of Counter-Strike is as consistent as it gets, consistently good that is. In addition to his 1.33 rating, he was also the third-best player at the entire event at getting multi-kills.

What an amazing prospect this guy is. A year ago there were few people who knew the name "torzsi" and he has done more than enough to prove himself as of late. The Hungarian AWP'er shines brightly within the MOUZ roster and deserves a mention after an amazing performance at the Roobet Cup 2022. Playing an integral part in opening up rounds for his teammates, "torzsi" was the deadliest at getting opening kills at the event, with a scarily high success percentage of 78.4%.

Whilst he wasn't the player who accumulated the highest rating among all players at the event, it is safe to say that he was probably the most influential.  Securing a well-deserved MVP title was German sniper "syrsoN" who played an integral part in BIG's victory against FaZe in the Grand Final. When "syrsoN" is hitting his shots there is no opponent out there that does not get a run for their money against "syrsoN".

Finally, we have one of the most dangerous riflers in the entire CS:GO scene, "flameZ". OG have been showcasing to the entire world that they are capable of taking down even the biggest of opponents as of late, and a huge part of their success can be said to be because of "flameZ". Once again he played an amazing event scoring a high rating of 1.21 and remaining consistent throughout OG's battles.

BIG defied every odds and went ahead and won the 2022 Roobet Cup. The Germans defeated FaZe twice in the tournament, while also knocking out Cloud9 in the Semi-Finals.

The man of the hour was Florian "syrsoN" Rische, who stood out both in the Grand Final and in the Semi-Finals with some impressive performances. The AWP'er was only rated fourth-highest overall at the tournament but was named MVP after the great impact, that he showed at the final stages of the tournament.

This was only the second time in his career, that he has won an MVP award.

For BIG the win at Roobet Cup was their first in a year and will serve as a perfect lead-in to IEM Cologne on home turf.

Starting with sixteen teams we were down to just two as FaZe and BIG got ready for their brawl in the Grand Final of the Roobet Cup 2022 event. Both teams had proved themselves more than worthy of reaching the Grand Final with FaZe's individuals stepping up in every single game and BIG's cohesive teamwork pushing them over the edge in every tough game. Before meeting on the server, FaZe were the big favorites going into the Grand Final. With "karrigan" having seemingly found the recipe for FaZe to stay performing at their high skill ceiling far more consistently than previously, the European super roster seemed poised to take home the victory against BIG. However, it wasn't that easy. If you know anything about BIG, you probably know just how tough they can be to play against when they are on fire. The cohesive and well-executed teamwork of BIG meant that it was in fact the Germans who came out on top after three close maps and who were able to call themselves the champions of Roobet Cup 2022 after claiming victory against FaZe in the Grand Final. 

The first map of the Grand Final was picked by BIG and saw the two rosters head to Dust 2 to kick off the battle. Dust 2 has been one of BIG's strong suits for many years now and when the Germans are having a good day on Dust 2 they can seem almost impossible to bypass. Despite this, however, the individuals of FaZe make the prospect of facing them on Dust 2 an always scary one. BIG started on the T-side and had slight issues with breaking down the FaZe defense at first, forcing them to save in multiple rounds, despite being on the T-side. It didn't take long, however, before the Germans woke up. Finding luck in different areas of Dust 2, BIG caught up with FaZe once again and managed to create a scoreline as close as possible at 8-7 going into halftime. The second half saw a rock-solid BIG defense get off to a great start. A "Twistzz" on fire did his best but had to see his efforts fall short as BIG closed out Dust 2 at the scoreline of 16-13. 

The second map of the Grand Final between FaZe and BIG was, of course, picked by "karrigan" and his troops. Perhaps unsurprising the two rosters headed toward the concrete of Nuke to carry on the battle. Nuke is a map that as of late has been almost synonymous with FaZe and where no team wishes to see the names of "broky" and "Twistzz" on the server. With that being said, Nuke is also a map that BIG have previously leaned on for results in big matches and a close brawl was therefore on the cards. FaZe got off to a great start on their T-side and managed to put rounds on the board and create an early 6-2 lead. Once again it wasn't long until BIG found their groove and started putting rounds of their own on the board. A close battle in the first half concluded with a scoreline of 8-7. Once the two rosters had switched sides it was once again FaZe to come flying out of the gates, however, they were, not long after, followed by BIG. With BIG taking control of the economy in the second half it was difficult for FaZe to string multiple rounds together and the Germans managed to slowly but surely edge themselves back into the driving seat at 14-13. The hard-fought battle from the Germans to take control of the second half proved to be all in vain, as they crumbled in the final three rounds and were defeated by a resilient FaZe defense at the scoreline of 16-14. 

The third and final map of the Grand Final was set to take place on Mirage. Being the most played map of all time in professional Counter-Strike, it is a map that both FaZe and BIG are more than familiar with and seemed the perfect grounds for the last brawl before the champions could be crowned. FaZe started Mirage the strongest. Posting a stellar CT-side it seemed as if BIG had too much to handle in their offense. Managing to claw themselves back a handful of rounds, things were relatively close as the two teams switched sides at the scoreline of 9-6. After having switched sides, a far more bolstered and cohesive BIG roster came alive. With "syrsoN" hitting his shots on the AWP and "tabseN" finding his groove on the server, things became close between the two teams. After having been caught up with by BIG it seemed as if "karrigan" and FaZe had lost their chance on Mirage. Managing to remain calm and collected, however, FaZe pushed BIG into overtime as things were all tied up at 15-15. At the scoreline of 19-17, BIG took home Mirage, claimed victory against FaZe, and became the champions of Roobet Cup 2022.

BIG have just locked in their spot in the Grand Final at Roobet Cup after a dominant showing against Cloud9. While the Germans also showed up at IEM Dallas, they have now taken their game to another level.

One of the reasons for the Germans' awesome form might be the performance of the team's main AWPer: Florian 'syrsoN' Rische. The 26-year-old is the seventh-highest ranked player at the event with a 1.21 average rating, and also held the best rating when the Germans brought down the world's #1 team in FaZe.

The sharpshooting German is not only doing well in officials. In a FACEIT match, he brought the entire enemy team to their knees as he ripped their heads off with five crisp USP-S headshots.

Florian "syrsoN" Rische is perhaps the best aggressive AWP'er in CS:GO right now. BIG's sniper is currently leading the leaderboard of AWP kills per round against the top 30 teams in the world. The German AWP'er has also ranked 1st in opening kills, where he has taken down an opponent 336 times during 2022 as the first player in a round.

On FACEIT syrsoN is also showing off his great abilities with the "Big Green". Just watch this clip, where he singlehandedly takes care of the entire enemy team.

BIG and syrsoN will play their next match at Roobet Cup 2022 tomorrow, where they will face another dangerous AWP'er in sh1ro, when they go head to head with Cloud9 in the Semi-Finals.

The Turks of Eternal Fire faced the Germans of BIG in the first quarter-final of Roobet Cup. BIG were close to sealing it in two maps, but Eternal Fire sneakily managed to take it all the way.

It looked like a very even matchup in the early stages of the first map; Overpass. The Eternal Fire squad got an extremely acceptable seven rounds on the offense, mainly due to both 'XANTARES' and 'Calyx's massive early impact.

The second half was an entirely different story. BIG, who had a one-round lead at halftime, played an impressive offensive half led by two of the people you do not normally consider the carries. The first was 'tiziaN', who with multiple clutch plays and good entries was the best player on the server, and the second in 'k1to' had a dismal first half but managed to turn it around with more than one KPR in the second.

After the win on Overpass, BIG had the pleasure of playing on their homecourt; Dust2. Right off the bat, the Germans were merciless on the offense. 'syrsoN' and 'k1to' were playing so well that the other three did not have to do anything out of the ordinary to easily win twelve of the first fifteen rounds.

Eternal Fire down nine rounds at halftime played a sublime T side. The Turks did the exact same thing as BIG and won twelve stellar offensive rounds to push the map to overtime where they kept up their winning ways and snatched the map away from BIG.

The deciding map of the series was Nuke, and Eternal Fire had to deliver a solid CT-side performance to win the map as they have looked awful on the Nuke T side lately. Unfortunately for them, they were not able to play even an acceptable CT side, as 'tabseN' and 'syrsoN' led the way for yet another dominant offensive half. BIG led 10-5 at halftime.

BIG did not waste any time getting to the finish line, as they did not have any trouble dealing with Eternal Fire's offense. The Germans sealed the deal at 16-7 and secured their spot in the semi-finals.
