BIG eliminate Evil Geniuses from FunSpark ULTI

The German squad have advanced to the FunSpark ULTI 2020 Europe lower semi-finals following a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Evil Geniuses. stanislaw and company from EG are eliminated from the tournament and leaves with a 7-8th place and $5.000, while BIG will prepare to face off against Complexity on Friday at 17:30 (CET) for a place in the lower final.

The action started on Dust2 where Evil Geniuses started on the right foot by taking an early 4-1 lead, despite losing the pistol round. The Americans finished off the first half with a good T-side as they managed to grab 9 rounds before switching sides. In the second half, it seemed like EG were ready to close out the map as they stormed to a 12-6 lead. But as soon as BIG’s economy started rolling, the German squad completely destroyed EG’s defense and strung 8 consecutive rounds together, making it 14-12. syrsoN and company from BIG really had their momentum going and quickly closed the map 16-13 to take a 1-0 series lead.

On Nuke, the game followed the exact same pattern. EG humiliated BIG in the first half and stormed through their defense to quickly take a 7-0 lead. BIG managed to grab 4 rounds afterwards before halftime and didn’t give up in the second half, where they equalized the score 11-11 on the offense. The American squad looked shocked and didn’t manage to find their footing as BIG didn’t slow down, but instead kept the pace in game to close the map 16-13 and wrap up the series 2-0.
