BIG denies a FaZe-win in Olufmeisters return
In another thrilling match in Group B, BIG took the victory against FaZe.
With almost no possibility of practicing beforehand, FaZe managed force BIG into a thriller match in Blast Premier Fall.
The legendary Olufmeister returned as a stand-in and made a memorable comeback in the match. Already in the second round on Mirage, he showed his skills with the Desert Eagle.
The former Major-winners were not left many chances after the departure of NiKo, but the team showed promising gameplay on the first map. Every FaZe-player had a positive K/D-score late on the first map.
But German-team BIG has shown better and better performances lately, and while the return of Olofmeister stole the show in the beginning it was the Germans who ended the map in style. In overtime, Syrson stole the victory for BIG with a clutch three-kill move in the end.
On Nuke FaZe started strong and secured a solid lead. The team around Olofmeister performed well under the guidance of their new ingame-leader Coldzera. BIG once again managed to make the map very evenly contested.
On FaZe’s T-side everything changed. Coldzera, Kjaerbye, broky, and rain all played spectacular counterstrike and were carrying Olofmeister through with style. FaZe won Nuke 16-9.
The deciding map was Dust2. A map where BIG has been consistently good through the year. And boy did it show. Playing as T-side the German team performed a Blitzkrieg against FaZe, who were left shellshocked. Quickly BIG was 7-0 ahead. But then FaZe answered back. Lead by Olofmeister, they managed to go 8-7 before the break. A remarkable turn of events.
And then everything fell apart for the superstars of FaZe. XANTARES, syrsoN, and tiziaN made a big impact in the end and secured the Germans a 16-9 victory on Dust2.
