Big beat Evil Geniuses in gade’s debut
The Dane seems to have settled in well with his new team.
Nicklas “gade” Gade’s debut match ended in success as Berlin International Gaming battled to a 2-0 victory over Evil Geniuses in their opening match in ESL Pro League Season 14. The 26-year-old Dane seems to have settled well with the team and contributed with some important plays to help his team to victory. Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz delivered the best performance in EPL so far and dropped 35 frags on Dust2 to help his team wrap up the series quickly.
BIG kicked off the series on the right foot, winning the pistol and going up 5-1 on the T-side of Nuke. After that, Evil Geniuses started to wake up and improved their A-hold, which helped them to lower their deficit to only one round, right before halftime. The second half ended up being a simple one for BIG, who absolutely shut down Evil Geniuses’ attacks. EG struggled to create enough space when trying to execute onto either site, resulting in them getting stuck and cleaned up most of the times. BIG closed out the map comfortably 16-9.
Dust2 was a completely one-sided affair, with EG once again struggling to stabilize their defense on the CT-side. CeRq and company came behind 3-12 in the first half on a map they hoped to win to take the map to the decider on Overpass. But it was not to be as tabseN and company went on to close out the map 16-8, powered in large part by the outrageous 2.31 rating of Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, who finished the map with 35 kills and 152.8 ADR.
