It has not gone unnoticed, that four teams from the CIS region are ready for the playoffs at IEM Katowice.

After the victory against Furia, Virtus.pro's latvian rifler Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis was asked about the CIS dominance at this year's IEM Katowice.

- For me it was expected, that these four teams would make it to the playoffs. I did not think Spirit would win against Astralis, but they have been really strong since the addition of "degster". I am glad, that we have such a strong region at the moment, the 21-year-old Virtus.pro player told the desk at IEM Katowice.

Virtus.pro joined Gambit, Team Spirit, and Natus Vincere in the playoffs at IEM Katowice with their victory against Furia. The playoffs will start on Friday.
