Vitality grab Pro League title after marathon match against Liquid
The European squad has won their first trophy together after going international at the start of 2022.
Vitality ended up as the overall victors in the 16th season of ESL Pro League when they yesterday evening defeated the North Americans from Liquid after a thrilling five-map series in the Grand Final.
Despite the match kicking off at 17:00 (CET), the title decider was not finished until after midnight presenting no more than 155 rounds in total. The lengthy series went back and forth throughout its entirety but in the end, it was Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and his men who could lift their first trophy of the year, after going international in January.
In yesterday’s match Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut stepped up huge by averaging a strong 1.39 Rating and additionally racking up 143 kills in the process. The French icon was handed the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award for his impeccable performance in Malta.
