Team Liquid eliminate Evil Geniuses from BLAST Premier Fall Groups
FalleN and company are moving on to the Consolidation final where they will face off against Astralis on Saturday.
Team Liquid are through to the Consolidation final in BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2021, following a dominant 2-0 victory over Evil Geniuses in the Lower final. FalleN and company will be taking upon Astralis on Saturday at 16:30 (CET) for a place in the Group final against Vitality, where the winner of the match will secure a ticket for the LAN BLAST Premier Fall Finals event in the Royal Arena (Denmark) later this year.
The action started on Evil Geniuses’ map pick of Mirage, which didn’t go well for oBo and company who looked bleak on their pick. Team Liquid’s defenses were just too strong for EG who struggled to find gaps and FalleN’s troops even had some chances to add more rounds to the scoreboard in the first half, but failed to do so. However, Team Liquid quickly closed out the map 16-6 in the second half, only allowing CeRq and company to grab one round on the defense.
On Vertigo, Evil Geniuses struggled to build an economy as CT, finishing the half with just three rounds on the scoreboard. In the second half, Evil Geniuses started to find their footing and a glimmer of hope emerged for oBo and company, but Team Liquid quickly reclaimed control, ending the series 2-0 with a swift 16-7 win.
