Team Liquid beat fnatic to set up Heroic quarter-final
FalleN’s troops from Liquid are ready to face off against Heroic in the quarter-final of EPL.
Team Liquid continues to impress at ESL Pro League Season 14 as they beat ALEX’s troops from fnatic to advance to the quarter-finals of the event, where they will take upon the strong Danish side from Heroic for a spot in the semi-finals.
fnatic picked Nuke to start off the series, but they soon came to regret that decision as Team Liquid quickly racked up a massive lead as Counter-Terrorists, turning it into a massacre. FalleN and company only allowed ALEX’s troops to take three rounds in the first half and one in the second half, before they closed out the map 16-4 in dominant fashion. EliGE delivered a wonderful performance that was simply too much to handle for fnatic, helping his team draw the first blood to the series with 125.2 ADR and 21 frags.
Team Liquid’s map pick of Dust2 turned into a much closer affair. KRIMZ and company started things off on the right foot by quickly going up 4-0 on the CT-side But EliGE and company were not about to let go as they brought it back to a 6-5 lead before finishing the first half 8-7 in their favor. Team Liquid were leading 14-10 when fnatic came alive and managed to force overtime. After triple overtime, numerous wallbang attempts through mid-doors, and some very intense fights, Team Liquid finally put an end to the overtime show, closing out the map 25-21 to take the last spot in the quarter-finals.
