Stewie2K after exit: This was most likely my last game for Team Liquid
Where will the former Major and Intel Grand Slam winner end up next year?
Last night the North Americans from Team Liquid got eliminated from BLAST Premier World Final after losing to NAVI in the lower bracket final. The 2-0 defeat marked the end of Liquid’s 2021 season, but also the end of their current roster.
We got the opportunity to speak with Jake “Stewie2K” Yip following their exit, where we asked the 23-year-old player whether this was his last match for Team Liquid.
- Most likely. I had a fun time playing at BLAST Premier World Final – it reminded me a lot about the LAN environment and who I can be as a player and who I am as a player. I’m definitely looking forward to next year, and I’m really happy for what I’ve accomplished with Liquid – We had a great team in 2019, where we accomplished things people can’t accomplish anymore. There are definitely good memories and I will definitely leave Liquid remembering those things.
Stewie2K is set to leave Liquid after a 2-year tenure with the team.
In the post-match interview, Stewie2K also opened up about his future and what the spectators and his fans can expect from him next year.
- I do want to continue playing CS, but at the same time, I got to think about what’s best for me and for what I can do in the future. I will be re-evaluating my options and getting ready for next year. (…) All the options are open – Let's see where I’ll go.
