Liquid dismantle TeamOne 2-0 and secure playoffs

TeamOne continues their losing streak after being denied their first win by Liquid

Going into day four of Group D, we started things off with a Bo3-series between TeamOne and Liquid. The North American roster of Liquid have put up great performances so far at the event and are finally looking like a well-oiled machine. The opposite can be said for TeamOne at ESL Pro League S14, however. Going into the Bo3-series against Liquid the Brazilian roster of TeamOne had not managed to win a single Bo3-series and was sitting on zero points at the bottom of the table. Unfortunately for TeamOne, the trend continued as Liquid shut them down confidently. After winning both Mirage and Inferno it was the NA boys to claim the victory as well as three additional points.

The first map was the pick of the Brazilians. With Mirage being their most successful map, the TeamOne roster opted for that option as the series’ first map. Whilst it isn’t one of Team Liquid’s best maps in the official map pool, they proved that they are more than capable of competing on the soil of Mirage. As a matter of fact, Mirage had Liquid written all over it from start to finish. After posting a strong 11-4 CT-sided half, the Liquid roster had little left to do in the second half. At the scoreline of 16-8, the North American giants took home the first map of the series with ease.

The second map of the series was Liquid’s map pick and to none’s surprise, they opted for Inferno. After winning their last three matches on Inferno the map has grown to become the home ground of Team Liquid. The map started, just as on Mirage, with a confident Liquid roster taking the lead. Proving why the map of Inferno is one of their strongest, Liquid gave the Brazilians little room to breathe and closed out the second map at the scoreline of 16-11. The 2-0 victory means that Liquid now have secured a spot in the playoffs already.
