Liquid coach: You basically have to live in Europe to play CS:GO nowadays
adreN touches on the current state of NA CS:GO and how hard it is to compete in the big region right now.
It would be an understatement to say that the North American Counter-Strike scene are struggling in the current CS:GO landscape. The huge region was previously a mastodont that had a myriad of strong teams at the very top, competing for the title at the biggest tournaments in the game, and also an impressive production of fresh new talents.
However, over the last couple of years, the NA scene has developed into a rather powerless and bleeding titan, owing to have suffered from several difficulties like a mass emigration of players who have decided to join Valorant.
Something, the Liquid head coach Eric “adreN” Hoag also addressed in his post-match interview with ESL yesterday.
- We are doing our best over here. We are living in Europe and everyone is sacrificing a lot to be here and to represent North America. You basically have to live in Europe to play Counter-Strike nowadays, adreN said to the desk.
The American coach also goes deeper into the difficulties surrounding North American CS:GO, where he explains how hard it is to get useful practice matches in NA compared to in Europe.
-We tried to get out of here (NA) as soon as possible. We only stayed for a couple of days, because we just had to go to Europe. I feel like, within the last 6-12 months, this game has advanced so much and so fast, and I think you’ll only get really good practice in Europe.

Liquid's superstar Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski has also given his perception of the situation, where he, in an interview with Pley, stated that "it will take a lot longer than I thought before NA CS:GO recovers and gets better".
In the interview, the profiled rifler goes into depth with some of the reasons behind the collapse of such a big region and what he thinks it has to do to redeem its powers and dominance. You can read the article with EliGE right here.
EliGE and company are currently living in the Netherlands where they compete at the ongoing ESL Pro League Season 14. The iconic team commenced their EPL campaign with a bang when they yesterday took down NIP 2-0 in a confident fashion. A match, where EliGE was the standout player for Liquid and stepped up massively for the North Americans once again.
