Liquid claim the No. 3 spot on world ranking
It's a new month which means it´s time to see the biggest changes on the ranking list over the last four weeks.
After two and a half years, Liquid has yet again claimed a top 3 spot on HLTV's world ranking. The first half of August was quiet due to the summer break, but new teams were formed and the action on the server was back later in the month. After a break, BLAST Premier Fall Groups was the first well-known event that was played. ESL Pro League Season 16 has also begun and Group A with teams like NAVI, NIP, and Vitality have already competed against each other.
One of the most surprising changes on the World ranking list is Team Liquid who has fought their way back into the top 3 by playing an impressive BLAST Premier Fall Groups. The last time Liquid was in the top 3 was back in 12. January 2020 when they had the likes of Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and Jake "Stewie2K" Yip on the roster.
Liquid played a stunning BLAST as they defeated teams like G2 and Complexity in Bo1 and both NIP and Heroic in a 2-0 fashion. The well-played NA team, qualified for the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2022 which takes place from Nov 23rd - Nov 27th.
One of the reasons behind Liquid success after the summer break is the Latvia super rifler Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis. The 22-year-old star rifler has produced some impressive starts over the past month. Whit an Avg. Rating of 1.32 and 85.7% maps won all spread out over BLAST Premier Fall Group, YEKINDAR is one of the big factors behind Liquids high ranking on the list. Liquid is still yet to sign the star rifler as he is still playing as an "on trail" player under the Liquid banner.
