Liquid batters Party Astronauts in North American battle
Liquid swiftly took out the Astronaut underdogs.
The second game of the day at EPL had the two North American teams of Group C going up against each other. The powerhouse that is Team Liquid came in as the heavy favorite versus the much less experienced Party Astronauts who have yet to find a win at EPL.
The North American battle kicked off on Party Astronauts’ pick of Dust2, but they would quickly come to regret that as Liquid completely stomped them in the first half. The Liquid players were often seen laughing and joking around, and with good reason, because they were ahead by 14-1 at the break.
The second half did bring some fortune for the Astronauts as they were able to snag the first four rounds after the break. It was all just a consolation prize though as Liquid’s lead was just way too big, and the favorites took the map victory at 16-5.
The fun continued for Liquid on their pick of Mirage, as they unsurprisingly took a dominating 8-1 lead on the T-side. At this point the Astronauts started showing why they’re a part of this tournament, as they in convincing fashion won five of the last six rounds, resulting in a very competitive 9-6 scoreline at the break.
The Astronauts kept it competitive after the break as they managed to snag three in a row, but they generally had a very hard time penetrating the Liquid defense, and Liquid ended up taking the map at 16-9.
