In a recent interview with Monster Energy, Josh “oSee” Ohm, who plays under the Team Liquid banner, discussed his thoughts on the Source 2 update and its potential impact on the CS:GO community. oSee expressed his excitement about the update and predicted that it would lead to more players returning to Counter-Strike.

Source 2 is the game engine developed by Valve Corporation, and it has been rumored for some time now that the developers are working on a new version of Counter-Strike, built on the Source 2 engine, which could potentially bring significant changes to the game.

oSee acknowledged the rumors but stated that he has not looked to much into them, as he is still focusing on CS:GO. However, he expressed his optimism about the update, stating that he is sure it will be more polished and not too different from the original game.

“Of course, I’ve heard about it, but I haven’t looked too much into it. I’ve still been focusing on CS. My mindset is that whenever it comes, it comes, and we’ll just have to adapt. I’m sure it won’t be too different from the original game because everyone still loves the game for what it is. So, I think the changes they’re going to make aren’t going to be too drastic.

I’m still super excited because I’m sure it’ll be more polished. Definitely super exciting and I think we’ll see a lot more players come back to CS. Ever since Valorant came out, some players switched to it, but I think some will come back and play the game again, so it’ll be good for CS in general.”

As oSee mentions, the Source 2 update could potentially bring back some of these players, as it would offer a fresh take on the game and could introduce new features and gameplay mechanics that could rekindle interest in CS. Moreover, with Valve’s reputation for developing high-quality games and game engines, players are likely to be excited about possibilities of a new and improved version of Counter-Strike.

Josh “oSee” Ohm is the man in charge of Liquid’s AWP duties. Something the 23-year-old American has been for more than a year now ever since he was brought up from Extra Salt in December 2021, following an incredible individual year from the silent sniper.

However, the transition into representing one of the biggest organizations in CS:GO and facing the best AWPers week in and week out, haven’t been as smooth as he first thought, oSee reveals in an interview with us. 

- I will admit, it has been a little tougher than I thought [joining top-tier CS:GO], oSee said in an interview and continued. Before Liquid I did not understand too much about the game in depth. But after joining the team and especially after YEKINDAR joined, we started talking about game plans, how people are playing currently in the meta, and how much thoughts goes into it. It’s a lot to absorb, and yeah, it has definitely been a little more challenging than I expected.

Question: NAF, EliGE and YEKINDAR are all three super strong riflers. Is there enough space for you to really unfold your potential and what you want to do on the server?

- I don’t think it’s really their fault. Of course, we want to have the best riflers as we can, and it’s not like they’re restricting me or anything. They give me the freedom that I want so it’s really up to me to find my playstyle and find the picks that I want to go for.

- Having three really good riflers means that you’re not going to get as many kills, and you might be more in the supportive role, which I’m completely fine with as long as the team is playing well and getting wins. That’s the main goal for me.

So, do you see yourself as a more supportive AWPer?

- I would say so. I’m trying to lean more towards being in between where I will be supportive as well because as an AWPer it’s almost impossible not to be supportive. (…) Setting up your team and your rifles is very important, but also knowing what time is best to look for those picks and be more of like the playmaker.

The future of Team Liquid is looking bright after a fine ending to 2022. The addition of Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis has been a positive move for the North Americans, who are looking forward to more time together on the server.

But for analyst Mathieu "Maniac" Quiquerez there is still one big uncertainty on the team, which he pointed out on the desk at BLAST Fall Finals after Liquid's 2-1 loss to Heroic in the Semi-Final. The Swiss analyst has his doubts about Liquid's AWP'er Joshua "oSee" Ohm.

- I used to be a believer, but now the team has changed status, I think he is struggling to make the jump as well.

IEM Cologne 2022 is nearing its end as we enter the Semi-finals today. Fighting for a chance to reach the Semi-finals were Team Liquid and Movistar Riders as they had an intense brawl yesterday. The North-American CS:GO scene relies heavily on the success of Team Liquid as it currently stands in the professional scene of CS:GO, and seeing them perform at such a high level with "YEKINDAR" under their belt, is great for the many North-American CS:GO fans out there. 

Unfortunately, for the North-American CS:GO fans, Team Liquids IEM Cologne 2022 run was cut short by the Spaniards of Movistar Riders. The Team Liquid boys, however, did not go down without a fight. Especially one player proved himself in clutch scenarios, and he is shaping up to become an integral and important part of the new-look Team Liquid. 

I am, of course, talking about "oSee". Filling the shoes of the iconic "FalleN", "oSee" is slowly but surely showing proof of him maturing as a player. He proved this in an incredible fashion yesterday by remaining calm and collected in an important 1v3 situation. Whilst he is normally wielding an AWP, the American talent proved just how dangerous he can be with a rifle as well - take a look:

Liquid and paiN went head-to-head in the last match of the day at BLAST. The Brazilians ended up outlasting the North Americans after a long and hard-fought battle.

“hardzao” got his team off to a great start on their pick of Vertigo. They went up 4-0 on the T-side and were now in a great position. Liquid had a great run in the middle of the half led by a flourishing “NAF”, but after fifteen rounds it was the Brazilians who had the lead at 9-6.

The second half did not bring more fortune for the North Americans who only managed to secure three rounds after the break. paiN, who played an all-around solid team game, took Vertigo 16-9.

Even with the big loss on Vertigo, Liquid had not lost confidence, and they looked reinvigorated as they arrived on their pick of Ancient. 

On the hardest T-side in the map pool, Liquid, spearheaded by a soaring “oSee”, managed to take nine satisfying rounds before the break, leaving the Brazilians to play catch-up.

paiN, taking a page out of Liquid’s book, got off to a great start on the T-side and quickly secured their first lead of the map. But just as quickly as they found the advantage, they lost it again, and the North Americans secured their map pick and sent the match to a decider.

Overpass was selected as the final map of the series and paiN started it out with some of the magic they showed on Vertigo. After losing the pistol round, they forced their way to a 5-1 lead on the T-side. This is where the fun stopped for the Brazilians as they got run over in the last part of the half, and Liquid were up by three rounds at halftime.

After switching sides, Liquid quickly grew their lead to 12-6, and for the first time in the series “nitr0” and co. had a lead of more than five rounds. paiN, knowing that this is do-or-die, suddenly came alive and, led by “biguzera”, forced their way back into the game. The Brazilians hit match point but a quad-kill from “nitr0” sent the map into overtime.

paiN swept the CT-side and after failing to convert on two map points they finally managed to win on the third and are thereby moving on to the semi-finals.

Yesterday the North Americans from Liquid managed to book a spot at the upcoming Major in Antwerpen next month, by beating Evil Geniuses. One of the main reasons behind Liquid's success at the Americas RMR event, is due to their strong AWPer Josh "oSee" Ohm averaging a stellar 1.32 rating throughout the tournament.

Whilst things are getting intense at the ongoing RMR tournament for the upcoming PGL Major, Team Liquid can lean back and look forward to participating in the prestigious event in Antwerp. After beating Evil Genuises, they booked themselves a spot at the upcoming Major, the first of its kind for 22-year-old AWP'er Josh "oSee" Ohm. 

Filling the shoes of any CS:GO player is a difficult task when you rely so heavily on good communication and teamwork in the game of Counter-Strike. Filling the shoes of CS:GO icon "FalleN" seems almost impossible. Whilst this may the case, however, "oSee" has been putting in the work required to fill his role within the Liquid roster. Scoring an impressive 1.32 rating (5 maps) at the current RMR tournament, it seems as if he is already beginning to feel comfortable amongst his teammates at Liquid. 

"oSee" showcased this earlier today when Liquid faced Evil Geniuses in a battle for a qualifying spot in the PGL Major. Proving his worth as Liquid's primary AWP'er, the 22-year-old sniper managed to close out an important round singlehandedly. Remaining calm and collected, "oSee" executed a 1 vs 2 clutch to perfection, securing an impressive 3K and the round for his team - take a look:

Whether or not "oSee" will continue his current form in the upcoming events for Team Liquid we will have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, however, he is looking better and better as time goes on.

NA CS is back! Team Liquid delivered one of the first highlights from a North American team in 2022 with a superb victory against Heroic in the playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 15.

On Ancient it was on their CT side, that Team Liquid made all the difference. In the second half, Liquid won all ten rounds to lock in their own map pick 16-9.

The Danes from Heroic had a difficult time on the offense throughout the match. On Vertigo the struggles continued. Team Liquid took map control time and time again, which left Heroic in a bad state down 4-11 at the break. Heroic won five rounds in a row in the second half to put the pressure back on the North Americans, but quickly Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella and his men found the right setup to deny the Danes the comeback. A superb showing from Team Liquid who looks like a dark horse for the title in Düsseldorf.

Team Liquid will now face Ninjas in Pyjamas in the Quarter-Finals of ESL Pro League.

Going into the 2022 season, the North Americans from Liquid went through a major rebuild with the team acquiring Richard "shox" Papillon, Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella and Josh “oSee” Ohm.

The second game of the day at EPL had the two North American teams of Group C going up against each other. The powerhouse that is Team Liquid came in as the heavy favorite versus the much less experienced Party Astronauts who have yet to find a win at EPL.

The North American battle kicked off on Party Astronauts’ pick of Dust2, but they would quickly come to regret that as Liquid completely stomped them in the first half. The Liquid players were often seen laughing and joking around, and with good reason, because they were ahead by 14-1 at the break.

The second half did bring some fortune for the Astronauts as they were able to snag the first four rounds after the break. It was all just a consolation prize though as Liquid’s lead was just way too big, and the favorites took the map victory at 16-5.

The fun continued for Liquid on their pick of Mirage, as they unsurprisingly took a dominating 8-1 lead on the T-side. At this point the Astronauts started showing why they’re a part of this tournament, as they in convincing fashion won five of the last six rounds, resulting in a very competitive 9-6 scoreline at the break.

The Astronauts kept it competitive after the break as they managed to snag three in a row, but they generally had a very hard time penetrating the Liquid defense, and Liquid ended up taking the map at 16-9.

Party Astronauts

The last match of the day at EPL saw the North American powerhouse Team Liquid take on the Brazilian roster of GODSENT. Liquid came in with confidence after their convincing win versus BIG yesterday, while GODSENT was still looking for their first win after their slight loss to the Movistar Riders.

The Bo3 started on GODSENT’s map choice of Ancient, and the Brazilians got off to a relatively good start on the T-side as they picked up a couple of rounds and were pressuring Team Liquid heavily. But as almost all teams playing Ancient T-side they were struggling terribly to pick up rounds consistently, which led to a convincing 11-4 lead for the North Americans at halftime.

Behind by seven rounds, GODSENT was in dire need of some good fortune, but unfortunately for them Liquid kept their momentum and took every round after the break, resulting in a dominating 16-4 win on the first map.

The second map of the series was Liquid’s pick of Dust2 and once again GODSENT actually got off to a pretty good start going up 4-2 on the CT-side. This is when Liquid turned up the heat and really started to bully their opponents. What had started extremely promising for the Brazilians quickly became a dark scenario where they were down 10-5 at halftime.

GODSENT kept struggling after the break, and other than some good individual plays from “b4rtiN” there really wasn’t a lot to write home about for them. Team Liquid won Dust2 at 16-6.

The last game of the day had two CS:GO powerhouses going head to head. It was the Germans of BIG and the Americans of Team Liquid.

The match kicked off on BIG’s pick of Dust2, and it looked like a great pick for the Germans as they won the first five rounds. But then the fortune of the Germans ran dry, and Liquid flipped the script and took the rest of the rounds, resulting in a 10-5 half.

Not long after the break, the Americans found themselves on match point, and despite a valiant comeback effort from BIG, Liquid won map one 16-11.

The brawl continued on Liquid’s pick of Mirage where once again it was BIG that had the best start. But Liquid was never far behind, and the hot hand of “NAF” led the American squad to a slim 8-7 halftime lead.

The second half was just as close as the first, and after small runs from both teams, the score was tied at 12-12. This is when Liquid said goodbye to the players of BIG and took off on their own to claim the victory at 16-12.

After two overtime thrillers, it was now time for the Lower Final, which had the two North American powerhouses Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid go up against each other. The winner of this match would have to fight FaZe who had looked strong this far, while the loser would be done for the day. Keeping in style with the theme of the day, it was once again Inferno that would have to be the proving ground for these teams, that were still hoping for a chance of getting a spot in the Group C Final. To start EG were tasked with planting the bomb, while Liquid had to be the defusers. 

EG took the lead off the bat, but it was short-lived as Liquid quickly also found themselves on the scoreboard with a lead of 3-2. "Stewie2k" and his soldiers came right back and had soon managed to take more rounds on this T-side than they did in the entire game vs. Vitality. Luckily for Liquid, they managed to stop the streak of rounds by EG before it got out of hand by taking a couple of rounds for themselves. Nonetheless, it was the side of EG to come out on top in the first half after a three-round streak to end it at 10-5.

Coming into the second half Liquid would need a great start to not fall too far behind, and that is exactly what they got as they secured three rounds in a row, once again making it a close affair. EG got a round here and there, still keeping the lead, but Liquid were relevant every single round. "nitr0" and his crew were also able to take the lead at 14-13 after being behind for almost the entirety of the game. Still, it was EG that hit map point, but unfortunately for them, they weren't able to end it, which meant that overtime was once again required.

EG were almost able to sweep the first half of overtime, but were foiled by an incredibly sharp clutch by "EliGE". Liquid made the comeback on their CT-side of overtime, taking every round, and thereby winning the game 19-17, and making sure they live to fight another day.

Evil Geniuses

The 22-year-old American, Joshua "oSee" Ohm has been announced as the new AWP player on Team Liquid.

The former Cloud9 and Extra Salt player join the roster, where Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Keith "NAF" Markovic is the only remaining players from the 2021 Team Liquid squad.

- I am obviously really excited. It is going to be a huge learning experience for me. I think we have the firepower to be a top team, the new Liquid player says in the announcement video from Team Liquid.

In 2021 Joshua "oSee" Ohm scored a 1.29 HLTV rating throughout the year for Extra Salt in the second tier of Counter-Strike. The AWP'er only played top 20 teams on 29 maps during 2021.

Josh "oSee" Ohm is without of doubt one of the most promising Counter-Strike players from North America. The 22-year-old AWper has time after time shown a glimpse of his remarkable abilities, which has prompted several rumours of him joining the NA mastodont in Team Liquid. 

Today's Pley of the Day is from Extra Salt's match yesterday at Pinnacle Fal Series 3 against MOUZ NXT, where oSee managed to win a 1v3 clutch by no-scoping his last opponent before the defuse.

Josh "oSee" Ohm and Extra Salt won 3-0 against O PLANO in the Grand Final at DreamHack Open June NA tournament. The American continued his incredible 2021 with a monster performance scoring a rating of 1.47 in the match.

On Vertigo "oSee" popped off with a 1.85 rating which included an ace in the sixth round.

The expectations were high for O PLANO going into their first Grand Final under their new name. The former MIBR roster fancied their chances against Extra Salt, but quickly the North American roster dealt the South Americans a 16-2 blow on Vertigo.

Josh "oSee" Ohm continued his incredible 2021 with a monster Grand Final, where he was the key player behind Extra Salt taking home the $35.000 in first prize after a clear 3-0 victory. oSee finished the night with a 1.47 rating!

It was not until the third map that O PLANO started to heat up, but despite leading 10-5 at halftime on Overpass, the Brazilians lost the second half 2-11.

There have been some impressive performances from the other tier´s in the last month, with sterling on top of this. The Australian Euan “sterling” Moore has played fantastic with a K/D ratio of 1.54 in the last month!

Astralis is ready for a rendezvous with Gambit in the lower brackets at IEM Summer.

The Danes won their elimination match against Extra Salt, who started the match with a 7-1 lead on Vertigo, but from then on it all collapsed after Astralis began to grind their way back.

Both Xyp9x, Magisk, and dupreeh were fired up after the bad start to the map, and the trio was instrumental on Vertigo, where Astralis won convincingly 16-10 after a brilliant T-side on the map.

Since the permanent addition of Bubzkji in the starting lineup, Astralis has looked good on Nuke. Today they picked the map again and showed one more time, that this is still a stronghold for the legendary team. Despite a fine performance from Josh 'oSee' Ohm, the American could not prevent his team from losing the match.

Extra Salt is eliminated at the tournament, while Astralis will face Gambit in the lower brackets tomorrow at 20.00 (CEST).
