HooXi on memes and fan support: Everywhere I look I see my face
The G2 IGL talks about how it has been going from villain to fan favorite in over a week’s time.
Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen’s arrival to the biggest stage of CS:GO couldn’t have been scripted any better. The newly-appointed G2 captain went from being a villain to a massive fan favorite in what felt like seconds. First, he was heavily criticized for his individual levels, but now he’s a true cult figure in the community.

During the long tech issues at ESL Pro League Season 16, HooXi joined the casters for a chat where the Danish IGL was asked about his rise to fame, the memes, and how it is being a GigaChad.
- I look on YouTube and I see my face, I look on our team’s private Whatsapp where they posting memes about me all the time, I look on Twitter and I see my face, I look on Facebook and I see my face – it doesn’t where I look. You can laugh or you can cry. I choose to laugh, HooXi said and concluded with:
- I’m super happy about all the support, and I hope that you are not all trolling and there’s somebody who actually likes me and thinks I’m a GigaChad, with all not being full memes

"I want to play against s1mple"
In the interview, HooXi was asked whether he wished NAVI or Heroic to win - He didn't hesitate at all when giving his answer saying "I want NAVI to win because I want to play against s1mple. I have never played an official match against s1mple and I kind of want to try it".
And as the GigaChad that HooXi is, his wishes were fulfilled with NAVI beating Heroic 2-1 and therefore setting up a Quarterfinal brawl between G2 and NAVI. That matchup is set to be played tomorrow at 19:00 (CET).
