NiKo: HooXi has been phenomenal for us, even though people might not see that
G2’s new in-game leader receives a lot of support from NiKo, especially pointing out his unselfish mindset.
G2 has just come off a PERFECT ESL Pro League Season 16 campaign, securing the #1 spot in Group B and a first seed in the upcoming playoffs. Throughout the group stage, Nikola “NiKo” Kovac and co. managed to win every single map to go 10-0, as the first team in the long history of ESL Pro League, despite going up against tough competition such as FaZe, Outsiders, BIG and.
Before the last day of play, NiKo spoke with ESL about the captain change on G2 swapping Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen with Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen. Here HooXi received a lot of praise from the superstar Bosnian.
HooXi is just very good at letting players play and letting them dictate the pace when it comes to some obvious decisions. I think that is his biggest strength. HooXi made it clear that he is willing to do anything in order to win; he would do sacrifices and do everything that is needed for this team.
He [HooXi] has been phenomenal for us so far, even though people might not see that, since his stats at BLAST wasn’t amazing – but still, we have been winning games and played pretty good. I know he will step up individually as well because I know in practice he’s doing better. Maybe he was just off to a slow start at BLAST, and then it got to his head with all the memes and everything (…) but he never puts himself before the team, even though he’s doing bad individually. I’m super proud of him. He has definitely made us a better team.
