G2 continues perfect start to 2023
G2 Esports continues their good form with another 2-0 victory over NAVI at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups.
G2 Esports has continued their perfect start to the 2023 season, by taking down NAVI in another 2-0 victory at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups event in Copenhagen. The Group C final matchup ended with G2 securing their ticket for the Spring Final event, while sending NAVI to the knockout stage of the Spring Groups.
The match started off with G2 crushing NAVI on Inferno, with a 16-6 score. The team’s strong performance on the map set the tone for the rest of the series, as they went on to take the lead and dominate the game. G2’s coordinated team play on Inferno caught NAVI off guard most of the time, as they were unable to handle the pressure and were overwhelmed by a fully functioning G2 squad.
On the second map, Nuke, G2 continued their good form, securing a 16-10 victory. Once again, Nikola “NiKo” Kovac finished the series as MVP, topping the scoreboard with a massive 1.61 Rating, 102.9 ADR, and a 53-23 K/D. His exceptional performance was crucial in G2's victory, as he led the team to a convincing win and helped secure their spot in the Spring Final event.
NAVI will now have to fight their way out of the Knockout stage to secure a spot in the Spring Final event. They will be taking upon the winner of Complexity vs. Evil Geniuses on Saturday at 18:30 (CET).
