Fnatic take surprising 2-0 versus ENCE
The Major-participants ENCE did not have an answer for the hard hitters of fnatic
The last game of the day at DreamHack November featured ENCE and fnatic in the Group B winner’s match.
The now predominantly British fnatic chose Overpass with their map pick, and it very quickly became obvious why as they started out 11-1, a lead which is converted into a victory more than 95% of the time, and a lead that “mezii” was majorly responsible for getting them as he went 6-0 in opening duels and was at one point 15-2. ENCE would manage two more rounds before halftime, resulting in a 12-3 lead at the break for fnatic.
The second half was pretty much reversed from the first one as it was now ENCE finding form and winning the majority of rounds. A lot of the rounds were owed to “Spinx”, who was really the only player from ENCE carrying his weight. He even managed to lead the team back to a scoreline of 14-14 before fnatic shut down their comeback dreams and ended the game with a slim victory of 16-14 on their own map pick.
Picked by the Finnish organization as the second map was Nuke, a map they play a lot, and that has served them excellently over the last three months.
ENCE started out well, with some great plays coming out of IGL “Snappi” but were not able to really penetrate the fnatic defense as soon as they got the rifles out. Every time it looked like they had something going for them, they ran into the brick wall that was “Brollan”. The second half did not bring any more luck to the side of ENCE as they only managed three rounds on their CT-side of Nuke before they were blown out of the server by fnatic, who confidently took the map 16-9.
This means that fnatic book a spot in the semi-finals, while ENCE will be going into another bo3 tomorrow versus forZe, where they will fight for their survival.
