EZ4ENCE! Astralis destroyed in the Semi-Final at IEM Fall Europe
The Finnish Organization delivered two spectacular maps to qualify for the Grand Final.
ENCE continued their impressive run at IEM Fall Europe RMR event by winning a superior victory against Astralis.
The European roster started by running Astralis over on their map pick, Nuke. ENCE had clocked ten rounds on the scoreboard before the Danes finally claimed a round. But ENCE continued with an almost beautiful synchronous team effort that saw all five players rank between 1.47-1.54 in HTLV rating. A rare sight but nonetheless a very promising sign from Marco 'Snappi' Pfeiffer and his team.
ENCE won 16-4 on Nuke, where Astralis had won their last six matches.
The match continued on Ancient. Again ENCE took control and crushed Astralis early on winning eight straight rounds before the Danes were able to retaliate. Astralis seemed strangely paralyzed while the mood in the ENCE camp was at an all-time high. A 12-3 lead at the break left Astralis with a mountain to climb. Especially because G2 was plowing through their match against Fiend securing them at least a sixth place at the tournament and enough points to climb past Astralis in the RMR standing as a legend team for the Major.
So the Danes needed to deliver a spectacular comeback to keep their legend status and to finally face their old teammate Nicolai 'device' Reedtz, who earlier today had qualified for the Grand Final. Despite a good start to the second half, it was ENCE who could lift their hands victorious after a fantastic team effort to put them into the Grand Final tomorrow.
So what does this mean for the Major?
G2's victory against Fiend has qualified FaZe for the Major, while G2 has secured themselves a legend spot at the Major. Fiend will have one last chance tomorrow against Copenhagen Flames to qualify. The winner of that match goes through to Stockholm.
