BIG wins the Gamers Without Borders 2021!
After the 2-1 win for BIG against FURIA we have found the winner of this year's Gamers Without Borders!
The first map was to be played on the legendary Mirage, where BIG got the best start in the first half as the T side when they delivered a fantastic 8-7 win in the first half.
But the German roster couldn’t use their lead to anything positive, as the Brazilian roster fought their way back and got easily through a weak defensive line from BIG´s CT side.
The second map was to be played on Inferno, which was FURIA´s map pick, and after the win in the first map and now their map pick, many thought that the game was in their hands, but the German roster wanted it otherwise.
In the first half BIG dominated FURIA to the fullest, as they managed to win the half 10-5, which made the map a formality you may think, but somehow anything changes after the half, and momentum changed as FURIA won with the same stats in the second half.
This meant that we would need overtime at Inferno, and BIG delivered in the overtime as they won the map 19-16.
Therefore, a third and decisive map was needed to find a winner for this grand final!
The map was to be played on Vertigo, where the game was very even where both rosters won 9 rounds as the CT side and six as the T side, which made it to overtime.
And it didn’t change in overtime, a very even map ended 22-20 to BIG who won the trophy in the most dramatic form possible!
