apEX and Vitality defeat G2 at BLAST World Final
The Frenchmen continue their impeccable “Last Dance” at the $1 Million tournament.
In the second upper-semifinal of the day we saw two in-form teams go head-to-head when Vitality took on the Kovac cousins and the rest of G2 in a much-awaited battle at BLAST Premier World Final. A fight, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and his men ended up winning after a strong 2-0 win on Nuke and Mirage.
Prior to the matchup, both competitors had taken down a Scandinavian heavy hitter in their respective matches against Astralis and NIP. In today’s bo3 series, it was Vitality who was in control, which they especially showed on G2’s map pick on Nuke, where they closed down the map with a 10-0 CT run.
Vitality finished off the job on Mirage through a 16-13 score. The result means that Vitality will proceed to the Upper Final against Gambit, while G2 is being sent down in the lower bracket for a matchup against the mighty Natus Vincere.
