YEKINDAR: I will continue as in-game leader
The Latvian has confirmed, that Team Liquid will not look for a new IGL.
With the retirement of Nicholas "nitr0" Cannella Team Liquid is on the hunt for a replacement. But the chase will not be to replace the position of in-game leader for the team.
The statement comes in the middle of the insane silly season fever, that the world of competitive Counter-Strike is currently experiencing. The Latvian rifler had already earlier this year taken over the IGL responsibility on some of the maps in Team Liquid's map pool.
Now the question remains what type of player, Team Liquid will try and get on board? Yesterday Dust2.us launched rumors of Team Liquid transitioning to Europe and signing Robert "Patsi" Isyanov and Aleks "Rainwaker Petrov in place of Mr. Liquid, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski. Rumors that sent shockwaves throughout the NA scene, that is looking into a future with Evil Geniuses and Complexity being the top teams.
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski has spent 3009 days playing for Team Liquid, which makes him the player with the longest active stint on the same team.
