Vitality and OG storms through first round - ENCE win close battle
Two of the tournament favorites go off to a great start at IEM Fall Europe.
MAD Lions and Sprout were reduced to extra's as Vitality and OG began their run towards the Major in Stockholm.
On Dust2 OG denied Sprout on their CT-side in a spectacular fashion in the first half leading 14-1 at the break. A demonstration of power from Aleksi 'Aleksib' Virolainen's men, who made perfect use of utility. OG won the match after a quiet second half where they did, what was needed to win.
Team Vitality is the favorite of many experts before the tournament. The French roster has found the form at a perfect time, which they once again underlined with a ruthless dominance against MAD Lions. 16-2 was the result as the smoke disappeared from the battlefield on Inferno. A near-perfect performance from Vitality.
The last match of the group did however deliver some much-needed excitement. ENCE and Dignitas went head to head on Overpass, where ENCE had to go all 30 rounds to get the match turned in their favor with a 16-14 win. A huge result for ENCE who is without any RMR points before this tournament, and therefore needs a good result to make to Stockholm.
OG - Sprout 16-7
Team Vitality - MAD Lions 16-2
ENCE - Dignitas 16-14
